Constance Margaret Fisher, born Constance Margaret Sirois on March 26, 1929, in Oakland, Maine, was an American murderer whose crimes occurred in two separate episodes twelve years apart. She is frequently described as a serial killer because she killed six victims during separate periods of criminal activity, although the case can also be viewed as two acts of familicide. All six victims were her own children, and all six died by drowning. Fisher's case became especially notorious because the first three killings resulted in her confinement in a psychiatric hospital rather than imprisonment. After several years of treatment, she was released and returned to her husband. The couple subsequently had three more children. In 1966, Fisher killed those three children in circumstances disturbingly similar to the first deaths.

Fisher was a Clancy-type child killer, a Susan Smith-type child killer, some 70 years ago.
She drowned 3 of her children - twice.
“Not guilty by reason of insanity” should not be a thing.
Replace it with “guilty, but insane”.
Do the crime, do the time.
Either in a prison or in a psychiatric hospital.
Murdering your child should be a hanging offense.
Someone who would suppress motherly love, go against society and kill their own children are the very ones we don’t want running around anymore.
She’d be extremely popular in today’s third world “Amerika” full of illegal criminal foreigners that they love to call their “neighbors” while kissing their keisters.
The END of her story is that she was sentenced to the same Mental Hospital AGAIN, she escaped, and 9 days later they found her dead in a nearby River. She was buried in the sme plot as her 6 kids and her husband. He died in 1990. He too was buried with Margaret and the kids.

Psychiatric hospitals, presuming they do any good at all, are not places to “do time”.
Long term confinement should in most cases be replaced by physical punishment, or in the case of causing the death of another, execution.
This case illustrates how out of control the “why did he/she do it?” jury case has become.
The jury was a wonderful invention to try the State’s assertion “Person A did this crime”, especially since the “proof beynd a reasonable doubt” standard came into being.
But the jury is poorly suited to deal with “moral responsibility”, “why did she do it” questions.
Back when New England really was “Peyton Place.”
I’m afraid Clancy will be judged cured in a few years, unless the next jury does a proper job to imprison her. No way will she be executed, imo.

What is it about those Northeast US people? Maine, NH, Vermont, Mass
Massachusetts has no death penalty now.
