Twenty-five years later, September 11 still isn’t history to those families.
It’s personal.
And there was a time when presidents understood the particular weight of this day.
George W. Bush certainly did. Whatever else anyone thought of his presidency, September 11 was never just another square on his calendar. He understood what had happened, who had done it and why.
Donald Trump understands that too.
In between, something changed.
Barack Obama increasingly spoke about September 11 and Islamist terrorism through the lens of America’s treatment of Muslims. His administration seemed far more comfortable warning Americans about Islamophobia than it was confronting the ideology that had actually produced the attacks.
And that wasn’t occurring in a vacuum. During the Obama years, America’s political conversation about immigration, refugees, Islam and assimilation changed dramatically. Michigan and Minnesota changed with it.

I was never real fond of the aggressively ignorant people of NYC. Forgetting 9/11, as they have, confirms that the people of NYC are deserving of disdain.
Anyone that still believes the narrative is a fool.
“He understood what had happened, who had done it and why.”
I never understood why we invaded Iraq. The terrorists almost all had Saudi passports.
The jackasses in this country didn’t forget about 9/11. We started electing the terrorist murderers to the U.S. Congress and other local yokel dog catcher type jobs.
The speech that the duly elected socialist Muslim mayor of New York Mamdani gives on 9/11/26 will likely disgust the 9/11 families and most decent Americans.
Unwelcome by some, embraced by many. Morondummy will spew his typical BS. Will he use his pakistani rapper accent?
So, what's your theory? (I'll be surprised if you can articulate anything that makes any sense. A one "sentence" reply is more likely.)
I’m with you on this one.
Obviously.
For GenZ there’s nothing to remember. They weren’t born yet or still toddlers. I wonder if or how 9/11 is taught in public schools these days.
“George W. Bush certainly did”
Really?
The guy who opened the Mexican border up just two days later?
The US forgot when they elected zero in 2008. Mamdani is a Zohran come lately.
Bkmk
Bets say it’s a red letter day on the Muslim calendar?.
If any of this was remotely true, we wouldn't have thrown away our blood and money as we did in Iraq.
George W. Bush certainly did. Whatever else anyone thought of his presidency, September 11 was never just another square on his calendar. He understood what had happened, who had done it and why.
Not even a week later. September 17th.
And then he filled the country up with them.

thank the powers that be and hollywood for placing arabs in Co-Starring roles in movies!! They all portray soft sensitive and understanding males, women can woo and manipulate!! White women love them over the rash, mysowhatever white guys...
Blacks and arabs will always be looked upon as desireable because thats what television tells them to think. work like a charm!! just take a look at any vote stats from women. matters not what party you screen....
Most likely.
“So, what’s your theory?”
I suspect his theory is the most common conspiracy theory out there - The Jew did it.
