Just had a look. I’m in the Boston area...
Used the projection method: reverse binoculars, sun enters thru the large lens, exits the eyepiece, with white cardboard about 8” away.
Looks pretty cool!

We saw the total eclipse in Burlington VT in 2024, and it was amazing that, at 97% although it was getting a bit dark, we were still warm - but at 100% (totality) it was like a switch was flipped, temp dropped dramatically and even though we all know what had happened and when the sun would return, it was still a primal fear that the sun had gone out and we would be really screwed.
Saw my only one in Dallas in 2024.
Off my bucket list!
how is this even possible without a creator to bring such beauty... a moon the right size, and the right distance to create this is masterful planning.

This eclipse is only partial in Nova Scotia, not worth traveling for.

Ha ha… My sister lives up in the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont on a large parcel of land, and I thought I might be interested in asking her if I could go up and watch him up there but… She has a large field, stand for bands, that kind of thing, and they do all kinds of heavy duty, raves, and things like that.
I decided it wouldn’t have been my cup of tea, there were been too many people on too many things with their faces painted weirdly and acting strangely!
I get along quite well with her, but she is a bit of a hippie hold over from the 70s.
I had difficulty imagining me in that crowd of people watching the eclipse!
Yes. Also, the fact that we have such a large moon and an ocean of water that moves in Tides, which are crucial to life as we know it… You have to wonder.
They say we’re gonna lose our gravity for 7 seconds. Better tie yourselves down.
I was in it about the time you posted the thread. Our 3rd starting in 2017.
When I was toddling around, my dad built a camera obscura out of a big white piece of paper and a cardboard box with the pinhole for the light, and a round neck hole so we could peek in at the phenomenon — 1960 or ‘61. I was going to build something of that kind for the Transit of Venus in 2012 but didn’t get around to it. Maybe next time. 😁
In the mid- to late-70s saw a partial solar eclipse, and experienced that phenomenon of shaking shadows being cast by trees and such. Same shaking deal again in the, I guess, early 1980s eclipse.
There was a near-full lunar eclipse, with the dark side of the Moon turning slightly red (which is often reported) in ‘81 or ‘82. Those take a lot longer overall, don’t require eye protection, and if a potty break is needed, ya don’t miss much.
