Black voters rejecting socialism

OPINION:

Democrats are abandoning the party’s most cohesive and dependable voting base — Black voters — in favor of flashy, young and charismatic socialists.

Historically, about 80% to 90% of Black voters have aligned with the Democratic Party. No other major demographic in the U.S. votes as unitedly. Black turnout is essential for Democrats to win national elections, and candidates who fail to secure their support, as seen in the historically crucial South Carolina primary, rarely win the overall nomination.

However, the Black electorate is not a progressive monolith. About 73% of Black Americans identify as Christian, and nearly 97% believe in God or a higher power. About 59% of Black Americans consider religion “very important” in their lives, a rate higher than the general U.S. adult population.

Younger generations of Black voters are leaning more conservative, disenchanted with a political party that seems to take their vote for granted.

As the Democratic Party lurches further left, courting Democratic Socialists of America candidates, the Black vote has increasingly been ignored by the party establishment.

Black lawmakers and activists across the Deep South “say they’ve been let down by nearly all corners of the party: would-be presidential hopefuls who have flocked to early and swing states but do not bring their megaphones elsewhere; congressional leadership focused on majority-making battlegrounds while safe Black seats are drawn out; and years of chronic underfunding that has allowed local party apparatus to wither away,” Politico reported this month.

Unlike White, college-educated Democrats, Black Democrats are not falling for self-identified socialist candidates who do not support the state of Israel, reject Judeo-Christian values and want to abolish immigration enforcement and law enforcement.

Key word major.

Muslims are still a minor demographic. But they punch way above their weight class because they congregate in tightly concentrated areas.

Were they congregate they wield political might because they vote en-block. And they also gain political alies because of their ability to generate campaign funds.

The Dems may lose their grip on the Black vote but they are selling their souls to the Muslims to maintain power.

And they are perfectly willing to help the Muslims gain power.

They have a lot more smarts than many white voters.

I keep telling folks, please don’t ostracize or write off Gen Z. Black or white.

They are much more conservative than millennials and only really need guidance. I find I have more in common with my early 20-something coworkers than millennials and behind.

It has been really hard to hear FReepers bash them, when I believe they may be the only hope for the future of our country.

The argument I use is that socialism is just like the plantation. You work to enrich the government and government in turn shares some of the wealth for personal needs and desires.

They usually dont have a rebuttal.

As has been said by others, black people are ignored by the Dems every day except the days just before each election, after which they are back to being ignored. Keep voting Dem and watch for the promised goodies to arrive. Someday.

The Great Society and its housing projects and exclusion of welfare benefits for women who have a man present in the home and so on is a perfect example of how socialism and communism do not really work in the long run. The early welfare was said by the government to be a bridge on which needy people could cross over to the feeling of pride and accomplishment as they got meaningful long term employment.

That is an awfully long spanned bridge.

Maybe some of the older churchy types might be turned off by the out and out commies but not enough to offset the gibsmedat free stuff crowd who will vote for whoever promises to keep the gravy train flowing and stick it to whitey in the process.

They do??? They're about the only people who have ever benefitted from socialism. If you don't count all the babies that have been killed in the womb and all the children who grew up without a father in the home and all the blacks who have been killed by other blacks and by unhealthy diets and drug use all while not having to work or pay for their own food.

Why would they want to change that.

Hi there. Not sure what I should takeaway from that graphic.

I only know experience with black/white/young women/young men. White young women being the least conservative, unfortunately.

And having more than a few young conservative men (all races) acquaintances who wish that was different 😕

Anyway, that’s where I am. I’m a very diverse job with coworkers

And I am a nearly 60 year old conservative woman. But for some reason people talk to and trust me 🤷🏼‍♀️
