A Prelude as a Backdrop to this film:

The film begins in June of 1787, in Independence Hall in Philadelphia. It has been over a decade since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which spurned a War of Revolution against England, which predominantly lasted for lasting 8 years. George Washington and his Continental Army’s decisive victories led to a number of considerable defeats for the British on all fronts, forcing the King of England to face the end of his sovereign control over the 13 American colonies. In the meantime, the United States is trying to establish an effective patchwork government of law, order, financial stability, and authority. As a desperate measure, each of the 13 states send leaders to represent them to Philadelphia, where they hold meetings to form an effective foundation of government. This meeting of the minds is what is known as The Constitutional Convention.

The Story:

The movie begins as representatives of the 13 colonies are engaged in powerful, contentious, and spirited arguments about how to go about developing the foundation for a stable federal government. Everything is at stake for the 13 colonies regarding their safety, security, economic independence, and livelihoods as they band to form a union under a central authority which in this case, is a singular constitutional government....

Thank you very much and God bless you.

A stirring and powerful film about a movement that began with a “spark” that eventually led to the American revolution. In this Independence Day season, a look at the film “A Great Awakening”. The studio recently printed this film on physical media.

I have been looking forward to this film for as long as I was eagerly awaiting “Young Washington”.

I will be thrilled if I like it as much as I did “Young Washington”. Sounds like a great story.

I actually saw “Young Washington” this afternoon. Exciting and excellent movie as well. It was so fast paced (because it was so interesting) that the two hours that it ran felt like the movie ended half way. That is a rare feat. But these two movies were such a service to not only our country, but a service for teaching the next generation history that is real, lasting, and deep. I will be sending out a piece about that one as well. And believe me, that movie, like this movie, certainly did not disappoint.

And they FINALLY put it on physical media (albeit in the DVD format) for those of us who also want a physical copy of the movie (like if the internet goes out). Would like a Blu-Ray version as well, but they say it is not in their immediate plans.
