At 4:14 a.m., Russia’s Voronezh missile production plant was engulfed in flames.
This facility was described as a key link in the production chain for Kh-101 cruise missiles and Iskander-K missile systems — weapons Russia has used to threaten Ukrainian cities from hundreds of miles away. But in this operation, Ukraine did not wait for those missiles to be launched. Instead, the strike targeted the place where they were being assembled, stored, tested, and prepared.

I’m just glad to see Ukraine is allowed to strike back. I mean I don’t like either nation in this war, but I always thought it was stupid to make them play defense only.
Our own doctrine is about seize the initiative and stay on offense. Yet we told Ukraine only play defense...like we were condemning them to failure.
The strike on the missile factory is the key, with the other elements being supportive of that goal.
My military qualifications are nil. At most, I’ve studied some history books, and pay attention to what people with a military background have to say.

I sort of tuned out of the Ukraine war arguments though I certainly don’t want Russia to win.
Putin is a moron. As a superpower you don’t get yourself into a ridiculous war of attrition with your homeland being attacked for years. But somehow he’s gotten himself into it.
I think because he’s a sociopathic megalomaniac who doesn’t care about his own people. Russia is expendable to him he just wants it as the base for his empire.

The engine factories are probably more important than assembly lines.
“They had to build the bomb-proof tunnels in which the V2-factory could be housed. Thousands of political prisoners had to build the tunnels in 12-hour shifts under appalling conditions.”
“Dora was an underground factory with an area of approximately 300.000 square metres and consisted of two parallel running main tunnels 2 kilometres in length. The main tunnels were connected by side tunnels. One main tunnel contained the assembly line; in the side tunnels components were assembled and supplied to the assembly line in the main tunnel. Since the beginning of 1944 rockets were mass produced by prisoners. To build a complete V2 rocket one needed about 12.950 man-hours. Using forced labour the cost price was only DM 38.000 per rocket. In comparison: the production of a V1 flying bomb [without the warhead] would take about 800 hours”
