Republican strategist Karl Rove on Thursday said polls showing Democrats with the advantage in midterm elections might not result in a blue wave.
During an appearance on Fox News, Rove discussed a new poll from Marquette that found Democrats had a 1-point advantage over Republicans heading into midterm elections.
Poll results showed 46 percent of registered voters said they would vote for the Democratic candidate in November congressional elections, and 45 percent said they’d back the Republican nominee.
“If you look at just the top-line numbers among all the respondents in the survey: In May it was 56 D, 45 R, the Ds had a one-point advantage; in April it was 48-44, a four-point advantage. So, the Democrats in the Marquette survey have dropped two, and the Republicans have added one, which is inside the margin of error,” Rove told host Bill Hemmer.
“Essentially, if you look at this one poll, what it suggests is that there hasn’t been much change, but if there is any change, it’s to the advantage of the Republicans,” he added.
Rove noted that Republicans were “mildly advantaged” by mid-decade redistricting and said Democrats need to have at least 5- or 6-point minimum lead to take the House in November.
“The Democrats right today have an advantage, but it’s likely to … produce a relatively small margin in the House elections,” Rove said.
“And remember, this is a contest between two unfavorables. The president’s unfavorability is at 40 percent. The Democratic Party’s unfavorability is below 37. So, who’s more, who’s less popular and how’s that going to affect the outcome?” he added.

I always think all these articles do is wake up the dems and get out the vote. Why write them?
Republicans are getting lucky with the crop of candidates and their locations...
Talarico could pull off a win somewhere, but definitely not in TX.
Platner in Maine is red flag ridden on every level...
Not a lot of sane moderates, or even charismatic type progressives like AOC or Mamdani are out running.
Well, if that isn’t the kiss of death for GOP voters, I don’t know what is.
Rule of thumb- any poll that has an association with an institute of higher indoctrination is usually BS.
I am not a statistician, but it seems self-evident to me that 1% is well within the margin-of-error.
Polling doesn’t mean jack. The communist Muzzie Tranny DemonRATS will never hesitate to steal an election. What we need is a few Luigis.
Democrats had a 1-point advantage
That's going to be within the margin of error of any poll. It is showing a statistical dead heat.
Now we do know that Republicans need at least a 5 point margin to win because of Democrat vote fraud.
1- its the sHill which is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the dim party...
2- if rove is saying this the situation must be dire for the rats- rove is a garbage RINO never Trumper
Trump won the 2024 Popular vote by 3. 5 points. I’m sure of it.
oh shut up Karl give your friend John Bolton a call he might want to hear it.
I hate the idea of someone who has been wrong so many times saying something positive.
1 point advantage? After this failing economy? dims must really been seen as stinkers to have a poll like this coming out. That being said, I still remember Rove in 2006 bsing everyone with his secret sauce, dont trust him.
The difference of 1 pt, 46-45 in favor of Democrats means they are basically have the same probability to win as they would be inside the moe.
None of the current economic numbers say we are “failing”. Not the stock market-you can’t have a record stock market with an economy in recession.
