America doesn’t need azhos that kill Americans at High School track meets and sporting events. When I was in High School many moons ago, we didn’t take knives to sporting events. We weren’t psycho scumbags in those days.

He was 17 at the time of the crime so the death penalty is off the table so is life without parole. This is a US Supreme Court ruling no one under 18 at the time of their crime in any state can get the death penalty or life without parole it’s a national wide ruling. The DA in Collin County already said as much.
Max sentence is 90 years with half time served and parole is mandatory as they cannot serve past two parole seatings. So really 45-50 years max.
That’s just how the system works , I am a Collin County resident and had jury duty summons last month was dismissed by the defence because of prior LEO experience at the federal level. No defence attorney is ever going to let a former LEO sit in the jury. Not sure what the case was but as soon as they heard me give my creds I was dismissed at the next break.

Not correct. Miller v. Alabama and follow-on Montgomery v. Louisiana ruled that -mandatory- life w/o parole is unconstitutional. A person can still receive that sentence but sentencing judges need to consider age, mitigating circumstances, etc in sentencing to life w/o parole.

Thanks for the info. I spent 25 years in uniform working in NY State’s prison system While I was working, we were exempt from serving jury duty. I think they changed that rule after I retired in 2003. I got called once for jury duty, not long after I retired. I got a note from my doctor to be exempted for health problems. I was never called again. My youngest son was called for jury duty several years ago. They asked him if he could be impartial, and he said no, because his mother was a Sergeant, working for NY State Corrections. They let him go.

The killer was supposedly picked on because of his race. He was asked to leave a seat where he didn’t belong Only after being ‘assaulted’ by a thuggish white was he forced to pull out the large knife he happened to have in his back pack, just in case, did he stab the white attacker in self defense. On top of everything else the innocent ‘victim’s’ family has raised 100s of thousands of dollars from the local ‘outraged’ black community.
