EVERMAN, Texas — The human remains recovered this week during a multi-department excavation at a home in Everman have been positively identified as those of 6-year-old Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, the Tarrant County District Attorney confirmed Friday.
This home in the 3400 block of Wisteria Lane has been searched before in connection with the disappearance of 6-year-old Noel Rodriguez Alvarez. Noel's mother, Cindy Rodriguez-Singh, who is charged with capital murder, was found incompetent to stand trial last month.
Noel was reported missing in March 2023, months after he was last seen alive in October 2022. At the time of his disappearance, investigators were falsely told that Noel was living with his biological father in Mexico, officials said.
Noel was born with developmental and physical disabilities. Authorities have long believed that Noel was dead, but his body has never been recovered until now, the Tarrant County DA said in a news release.
“This case has weighed heavily on our community from the beginning,” DA Phil Sorrells said in a news release. “Noel was a child whose life mattered. He deserved protection, care, and love. Instead, he became the victim of an unthinkable crime.
Newly obtained letters Rodriguez-Singh wrote from jail to a judge offer a glimpse into her state of mind while in custody.
“Why am I being placed in the state hospital?” one letter reads. “I'm not a psycho person.”
In another, Rodriguez-Singh wrote, “They're treating me very very bad, and I cried for the pain they're making me go through.”
She also wrote, “I get threats every day,” and, “God knows I'm not a bad person.”
Before one court appearance, Rodriguez-Singh wrote, “it might be the last day of jail tomorrow. God will be with me.”

The mother and her husband fled the country but officials were able to extradite her to face justice in Texas.

I have questions.
Which of the Desperate Housewives on Wisteria Lane hid the body?
“I have questions.”
________
Sounds like they dropped the ball:
“Previous searches of the property had been conducted since his 2022 disappearance, with cadaver dogs earlier alerting to a discarded rug and topsoil under a newly poured concrete.”
