An investigation into hate speech being spray-painted throughout downtown Niagara Falls has led to the arrest of a 71-year-old man.
Buildings on Queen Street, Bridge Street and Zimmerman Avenue were targeted in March.
Niagara Regional Police arrested a suspect Friday.
He is charged with mischief under $5,000.
Police said there could be other incidents that were not reported and are asking residents and businesses in the affected area to review video surveillance footage and report if they see vandalism occurring.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1008915.
Information can also be submitted anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at CrimeStoppersNiagara.ca.

Canadian hate speech. I’ll take a guess that the Canadian interpretation of what hate speech is all encompassing. The slightest hint of hate will not be tolerated.

Possibly the perp belongs to a protected class if he was charged merely for “mischief.”
Name is Pierre Vaillant. Probably illegal in Canada to print the hate speech that he (allegedly) spray-painted.
