'Start a blood libel, stage the Pallywood, dominate the headlines, and by the time the hoax collapses, the Pulitzer is already on the shelf.'

Not the first Pulitzer that the NYT has won for a fake story. Walter Duranty for his puff pieces on the Soviets; the fake Russia hoax stories eight and a half decades later come to mind. Their ISIS work a year later was a Pulitzer finalist. Jayson Blair didn’t get a Pulitzer for his made up stories, but he did get other awards.
NYT has a long history of faking to win.
Didn’t some black female journalist win a Pulitzer for a fake story about a eight year old heroin addict a few years back?............🤔
