TexAM University at Dallas is marketing itself as a new, Dallas-based “Texas American Muslim University” that blends STEM degrees with mandatory Islamic studies and explicitly positions Islam at the center of its academic model.

With a physical address in Richardson, the university has received a warm welcome from Mayor Amir Omar, who is the city’s first Muslim mayor. The address is shared by the Dallas Diyanet Mosque and the Islamic Seminary of America.

In a video posted to social media, Omar praised TexAM’s plans and signaled strong support, even joking that he has already “picked out” future office space for the university’s second campus as it grows.

He framed TexAM as a major opportunity and offered to act as a conduit to connect TexAM’s programs with local industry in need of interns and hires.

Omar also suggested that helping the school succeed would be part of a “successful” tenure for him as mayor, while acknowledging that some in the presumably Muslim community are “politically impatient” and would rather see higher‑office ambitions than long-term local focus.

According to its website and promotional materials, TexAM calls itself “the first university in the USA to offer STEM degree programs embedded with mandatory courses in Islamic Studies,” saying about 30 percent of its coursework is devoted to Islamic subjects.

Something about a parable of a camel’s nose in a tent comes to mind.

I used to spend a fair amount of time in Richardson on business. How things have changed (for the much worse).

Everybody should know about "Islam"!

HISTORY - 1400 years / over 700 MILLION innocent people murdered by Muslims!

“Muslims” A mass of people who carry a "holy" book that says to murder all Jews and Christians who won't bow to their prophet.
And now we're flooding them into our country and even putting them into our government.

Can American voters be more stupid or are we trying to destroy ourselves, our kids and grand-kids AND our future???

BTW - That first Muslim president Obama said he "had a plan for America" .... and it was NOT for our good!

What about Christian studies?

Since the university receives federal funding, this sure seems like a violation of the First Amendment Establishment Clause, where a state funded entity is choosing one religion over another and promoting it.

It’s a remarkable thing, and not in a good way. After 9/11 the civilized world should have woken up to the mortal danger of Islam, and rejected it entirely.

Instead, the civilized world has welcomed Islam.

Is this some kind of Stockholm Syndrome effect?

Suppose the local Catholic diocese or maybe a big Baptist church set up a taxpayer funded STEM academy that required full study of the Catholic catechism or Scripture. How quickly would lawyers for the ACLU and Americans United for Separation of Church and State be at the district court or Federal court asking for an injunction?

They aren’t a “religion”. Islam is an ideology rooted in oppression.

It’s certainly beginning to look like white, Western culture and civilization have run their course. We may now be too weak to sustain and defend ourselves.

I frequently drive I-84 on my way from NYC to Boston and in Waterbury,Connecticut (a once vibrant city that's now a Third World slum) one sees a huge mosque right up on the hill overlooking the highway. When I see it I fantasize about someone showing up there with a huge truck loaded with fertilizer and a match.
