Not good. Bobcats are not aggressive by nature and don’t usually attack anything that can fight back. Suspect rabies
Yes, Rabies would be my guess as well. The bobcats in our neighborhood leave humans alone. They’ll either duck into a storm drain, or they’ll do the usual cat thing of going about their business ignoring the human. Little yippie dogs can be at risk, however.

my first thoughts as well ... there’s a Bobcat that hangs around our neighborhood, clearing out vermin lot by lot ... a few weeks ago, it tripped one of my flood lights one evening and i went out and we stared at each other for a while before it went about its business ... cool animals, just keep your house cats indoors ... the bears that occasionally maraud our neighborhood are another story, however ...
We had a German Shepherd my daughter got in Brussels, son of French national champion that year.
Pasha was a joy. While walking him on the beach one day, a really nasty, barking dog approached. Pasha took one look at him, started barking as he circled us, letting other dog know exactly what would happen if it attacked. Amazing animal.

Concur. That was a sick or injured cat.
But still one tough dog.
must have been something wrong with the cat, my money would have been on him over the GS. We have a couple of them roaming around our neighborhood, they easily leap over a 6ft wall.
True.
Rabid no doubt.
probably rabies
though Prescott is north, in southern Arizona there have been rabid attacks recently
Buy that dog a steak.
Very possible. I hope they sent the cat's head in for testing.
I've heard that rabies shots these days aren't quite the ordeal they were decades ago, but still no fun.
That’s one badass dog.
But still one tough dog.

Sick or not, it surprises me that a dog could get through those flying razor blades.
Since the article states the bobcat had rabies.... Good guess.
I guess no one herd read the actual article...go figure.
If the cat was sick, i hope the dog is ok
“Suspect rabies”
That’s what I first thought. Hope it doesn’t end like Old Yeller.
Why are they saying “allegedly?”
Are they afraid the German Shepherd will sue them for defamation?
