The most powerful rocket engine test ever conducted on Earth happened ten days ago. 33 SpaceX Raptor 3 engines. Six seconds. We talked about it on the show. What we didn't talk about is what happened before that. Because we didn't know. Nobody outside SpaceX knew. Until this week, when SpaceX released a 24-minute documentary and showed us the two static fire attempts that didn't work. This documentary changes how I'm thinking about Flight 12. Let me show you why.

Starship Flight 12 is almost ready to fly. Both stages passed their static fires at Starbase. Both are back in the production bays for final checks. And while all eyes are on Pad 2, something strange is happening at McGregor. Are we looking at Lunar Starship? Blue Origin solidifies its position, proving not only SpaceX can do a full reuse! And they're cutting corners to beat SpaceX to the Moon! Ferociously!Starship Flight 12 Ready for Launch!

SpaceX's Starship just shifted gears hard: Moonbase Alpha is now the priority, Mars takes a backseat, and the reasons why are blowing up the space community right now. Imagine waking up one morning, looking through a telescope in your backyard, and seeing an actual city glowing on the Moon, built by SpaceX, growing itself, and already turning a profit. Not in 50 years. Not in 20. In the next decade, if Elon Musk's latest pivot holds. Today, we're diving into why this makes perfect sense, how it could actually happen, and what this lunar city will look like when it starts coming together.SpaceX's Unexpected Moon Strategy Is Actually Genius | 19:35

Informative channel, the one I watch for SpaceX news.
How does he make Starship lie down ?
Moonbase Alpha was supposed to have happened in 1999!
Gives it treats? Tells it "good booooyyyyy"?
No idea ... the whole idea originally was for it to land on its end ... in 1/6 gravity, it might be possible to land it and then use an arm to tip it over. Maybe?
I suppose they'll tell us eventually.
First, though, they have to make orbit ... which they have not done yet.
He either seduces it or it is probably built that way. I wouldnt be surprised if it was a modular test rocket that they replace parts with new ones to test.
They have intentionally placed Starship on a just barely suborbital trajectory, but could easily have placed it in orbit at any time. They’re not lacking any capability there, it just hasn’t been in the test plan yet.
Draco thrusters or some such.
Same here. I like Felix.
I don’t believe an exact date has been set, but within the next few weeks….
Possible Falcon 9 “Squid Show” in the sky tonight above Vandenberg, CA just after 7:30 PST. Heads up in the west coast if skies are clear.
Frickking amazing. Just amazing. History in the making.
And Moonbase Alpha watched over stored nuclear energy waste.
Until it exploded one day in such a forceful manner that it nudged our Moon out of its Earth orbital gravity lock and sent it moving away from Earth to parts unknown. Was a great watch back then for a kid named me.
Fascinating possibilities. Thanks for posting ‘Civ.
Yes I liked it even though I had problem with the initial premise.
Kind of silly. Not too many mentions of what the consequences to Earth was.
Good cast. Landau, Bain (married couple that were on early Mission Impossible) and Barry Morse from The Fugitive.
A lot of the footage was from an earlier program the Andersons did called UFO. Before that was Thunderbirds.
Loved them all as a kid.
Originally it was planned to be a continuation of the UFO series. However that failed and hot swapped in a new SciFi series
