Amazon removed the paperback edition of French writer Jean Raspail’s 1973 novel “The Camp of the Saints” from its U.S. listings Friday, citing a violation of its offensive content policy.
Vauban Books, the publisher of the 2025 English edition, made the announcement Monday after the dystopian novel was flagged for “offensive content.”
The novel is dystopian fiction that examines what happens when mass immigration meets a society that has lost its self-preservation instincts. The story follows the choices made at every level of society as a horde of immigrants sets sail from India for France. The immigrants chose France because they had heard about its wealth and openness.
The response from the native French population is shaped by a mix of guilt and fear of appearing intolerant. The result is inaction followed by societal collapse. Over the course of the book, order breaks down and institutions cease to function. The arriving population overwhelms the existing systems, and the host society changes beyond recognition. Amazon is the handmaiden of Satan.
Amazon is afraid of offending whom?
Just looked and it is back on Amazon for sale.
The message is clear: Terror Works
Just checked and it’s for sale on Amazon.
When did Amazon begin deplatforming books?
As near as I can find, it was in 2017, at the behest of the World Jewish Congress (as per their press release):
I just checked Amazon and it’s there.
Well that was easy enough to check. Thnx!
Available on line for free here....

The next rumor will be that the whole story was a publicity stunt to attract attention and buyers of the book.
Nothing sells like smut banned in Boston.
Amazon Didn’t Ban The Camp Of The Saints Because It’s ‘Offensive’ But Because It Resonates

Now, that book will really become popular!
Poor Amazon, they’ll be missing out on the new wave of purchasing. Maybe Walmart or Ebay will pick up the slack.
So the Leftists upset over 6 year olds not being able to access books with explicit gay sex in the school library will be upset with this censorship, right?
Amazon did us all a huge favor.
Banning the book only to restore it called attention to their stupid failure and increased awareness of a fictional book turned reality.
I intentionally sought out lists of books banned by Amazon.
(Ironically a great source of such lists is one site banned on FR—lol.)
Many of the books are junk—but there are a few excellent ones and I purchased those from the publishers—in some cases off-shore.
I have read a lot of scifi dystopias over the years—convinced me that such books may become very valuable to my heirs.
Some of the most brilliant researchers and writers of history and current events have been fired from universities for wrong-think—it has become a badge of honor.
I table the motion to remove all citation of ‘amazon’ not pertaining to the region in South America from FR as ‘offensive content’ /s
When the Global Reset -- redefined by AGI about 30 seconds after congnitAIon -- as a brief alliance between the US and China, ordered by AGI to eliminate Islam through low-yield nukes, that reduces a handful of the EU metro cores to dust while also ground zeroing Tehran, Cairo, Beirut, Islamabad, some African capitols, and some Malyasian hotspots no one cares about but fund a lot of extremism ... and north Paris."
Certainly I'll remember this book while watching the Reset live on Fox. Lulululululuuuu!
“a horde of immigrants sets sail from India”
This has already happened.
