Former President Barack Obama is urging Virginians to vote in favor of a congressional redistricting ballot measure that if passed, could give Democrats a big boost in this year's midterm elections.
"By voting yes, you have the chance to do something important — not just for the Commonwealth, but for our entire country," Obama said in the video. "By voting yes, you can push back against the Republicans trying to give themselves an unfair advantage in the midterms."
The video by the former president, who remains one of the most popular former presidents and whose favorable ratings among Democrats remain very high a decade after leaving the White House, was released Friday on the eve of the final day of early voting ahead of Tuesday's statewide referendum.

I get sick of people who don’t live in a state injecting themselves into the state’s business. Same with political contributions. If you can’t vote for them, you cannot contribute to them.

I’m in Virginia. Its wall to wall obama advertising.
Dems started advertising for this two months before republicans.
Democrat ads are 2-1 more plentiful than republican ads.
Democrats set the playing field that republicans advertising plays to.
Democrats adjust more adroitly than republicans to opposition advertising.
Early polling showed within the margin of error but in favor of NO meaning no redistricting.
Current polling shows within the margin of error but favoring yes, meaning in favor of redistricting.
This is what money and smarts has got the democrats. an outcome that now favors them.
I totally hate everything I see from virginia republicans. Nor does this reflect well on whoever in hell is managing the republican fall elections.
The republicans should have more money and more talent than the democrats for this kind of thing. But they’re sure not showing either.
We have zero organization other than Trump and Musk.
