The New York Times escalated its Iran support yesterday, in a treasonous story headlined, “Trump Revels in Threats to Commit War Crimes in Iran.” Exactly what the mullahs have been saying! But … what war crimes? Or are they saying he’s just threatening to? And does the Times even know what “revels” means? One thing is true; it was all pretty surreal. The Times was definitely not reveling after reading a short but provocative Easter post from Trump directed at the Iranians. In three sentences, he dropped an F-bomb, called the mullahs “crazy bastards,” and most controversially, mockingly ended with “Praise be to Allah!”— on Easter. It was shocking, blasphemous in two religions, and painful to read, which is exactly what was intended.
But, rather than whine about presidential decorum, social media age restrictions, or worst of all, delve into why it might offend anyone, the Times complained about Trump’s threatened targets: power plants and bridges. “Their destruction by American and Israeli forces would in most cases be considered a war crime under international law,” the Times sagely opined.
In most cases! Not always, I guess. But as we’ll see, the words “in most cases” were doing a lot of work.
🚀 In 2015, Obama’s Pentagon updated the Department of Defense’s Law of War Manual. Revised Section 5.6.8.5 said:
Electric power stations are generally recognized to be of sufficient importance to a State’s capacity to meet its wartime needs of communication, transport, and industry so as usually to qualify as military objectives during armed conflicts.
The section was revised three more times: in 2016 (Obama), and in 2023 and 2024 (Biden). Trump’s DoD hasn’t touched it. It says the exact opposite of the Times’s loopy pronouncement.

I am hoping that 4 hours from now we never hear from Iran again.
When I was a kid THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS TERRORISM in the news every day.
Jeff Childers has branched out to Flopping Aces. Way to go, Jeff!
Thank you, Jimmy Carter! The BEST president EVER!!! ——
—— When it comes to helping terrorist regimes such as Iran gain power, influence, and the ability to spread fear and destruction worldwide.
I swear the front door should be shattered and the place shut down. Turn coats who support Iran as Iran murders 40,000 of their own people.
Not just the MSM .... there are even a few deranged NeverTrumper plants, right here, screaming the same charges.
Now that Iran has unzipped its by fly by deploying human shields, is there anyone who can still doubt they could’ve used that girl’s school as a base for military operations or bombed it themselves?
Jeff is one of my favorite writers.
I subscribe to his substack, Coffee & Covid ... well worth the daily read.
I read C&C daily, too, except for Sunday. I can’t afford his subscription, but he is definitely one of my new faves.
I especially chuckle when he throws in any reference to Florida, especially the Gainesville area. Those are usually pretty humorous.
I heard a new estimate the other day of 48,000. I believe that came from Al-Jazeera, but I could be mistaken.
The defense rests...
The NATO campaign resulted in the deaths of over 2,500 people, including more than 1,000 civilians and around 90 children. Infrastructure damage was estimated in the tens of billions of dollars, with factories, power plants, and historical sites reduced to rubble.

After we bomb them into the stone age we can only hope the people take back their country from the thugocracy
Then we can help them rebuild.
Deport a lot of illegals from here to help them
NOTE:
I’m opposed to the destruction of power plants. Substations might be taken out if they supply areas where a centrifuge is likely to be or are of great value to the IRGC or its leaders. I suspect we’ve probably zapped the missile factories.
Bridges should only be taken out for military reasons or to protect persons opposing the IRGC.
Trump should ask the Congress for more time. If Congress doesn’t give Trump more than 60 days, the last 10 days will be more destructive than optimal.
I don’t really give a damn what the MSM Media thinks any longer.
Never was. We know Iran was lying because their lips were moving.
