Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Monday he has encouraged President Trump to “wind down” the Iran war and “wind up” efforts for a peace deal while noting that it would take an agreement from both parties to resolve the conflict in the Middle East.
“Keep it up Mr President. Wind down the war and wind up efforts for an historic peace deal,” Graham wrote in a post on social platform X, responding to Trump’s Truth Social post touting “serious discussions” with what Trump described as a new and more reasonable regime in Iran.
Graham has recently come under criticism for public comments that seemed to suggest support for using ground troops in Iran.
“Washington’s war machine is hard at work. They are try to drag us into Iran to make it another Iraq. We can’t let them,” Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) wrote in a post on X last week.
“And yes, when we say Washington’s war machine, we mean Lindsey Graham,” she added.

Lindsey Graham reading the tea leaves ahead of his June Primary. A ground war is a certified loser for him and Republicans, in general. The Iranian people are not up to the task to fight their oppressive regime, we were sold a bill of goods that they were ready.
One thing about what ores Trump has done is that he is letting iran know that we aint messin around when we say to knock it,off with the workd terrorism, and iran knows now that they will get stomped if they ever try to build or use a nuke. Whenever he decides to wind it down, the message has got through loud and clear.
