An alleged drunk driver was arrested after driving through a gate at Daytona Beach International Airport and trying to board multiple planes.
Bryan Parker, 58, was highly intoxicated on Wednesday around 4:25 p.m. when he entered the airport’s international terminal, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, The Hill reported.
Parker entered the runway in his blue Ford Mustang and nearly struck a taxiing plane being used by the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, according to witnesses.
Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies said Parker tried to board an occupied, running airplane. However, the plane was locked, and he was unable to board.
Parker then ran to another airplane, but an airport operations technician chased him, pulled him out of the plane, and sat him on a truck’s tailgate, the sheriff's office said. He jumped off the tailgate and ran toward another plane before security stopped and handcuffed him, according to the sheriff’s office.
When deputies arrived at the gate, they found Parker’s car destroyed.
“I went to an AA meeting, and next thing I know, I’m doing cocaine, drinking, and smoking pot,” Parker said when authorities questioned him.
“I’m lucky I didn’t get on my … motorcycle,” the suspect added.
Parker was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail and charged with attempted aircraft piracy, burglary of a conveyance, felony trespass, exposure of sexual organ, criminal mischief, DUI property damage, and refusal to submit to testing.
Officials said that operations at the airport continued without disruption.

My stepbrother and I were drinking and partying with 2 girls we had picked up, and ended up driving around on the tarmac at Houston International Airport (now known as George Bush Intercontinental Airport I guess).
I had no idea there was such as variety of agencies and uniforms handling security at airports at the time, it was quite an interesting afternoon for us all, there were so many different kind of cops involved I think they even confused each other.
If that story wasn’t so potentially dangerous, it would be hilarious. Anyone who does this much troublemaking and acting out, is somebody who should never drink any alcohol at all!
Some get mean. Some get goofy. There are some folks who go through a Jeckyl/ Hyde
change and are capable of most anything until they sober up.
This guy is 58 /o. People who go nuts after one or two drinks usually know that about themselves before they turn 20 y/o.
He probably might consider finding a more effective AA group.
It might have been an Aircraft Assaulters meeting.
Funny, in a sad way, how this is required reporting.
Cue George Costanza: Was that wrong?
In his condition I am surprised he didn’t try to take the wheels out of a plane. He is a dangerous individual. He will be at it again if out on bond. Better learn the steps and practice them.
He’ll be in jail AA meetings for quite a while now and will have a ton of bills to pay.
Sounds like a script for “The Wedding Crashers; Part 2, The Bachelor Party”
Some guys just can’t hold their liquor.
Yup, some people have what is called a ‘switch’. They usually find out that they can’t drink when they’re pretty young like you said. This guy’s a nut case that probably has a lot of loose screws besides the drinking problem.
Spring breaker?
““I went to an AA meeting, and next thing I know, I’m doing cocaine, drinking, and smoking pot,” Parker said when authorities questioned him.”
Spoken like a hipster wannabe who thinks it’s all a joke. I detest drunks like that.
Apparently Poindexter here branched out.
At the end of the article, Natalia listed his charges which include “exposure of sexual organ.” Yet she didn’t cover that tidbit in her story. I’d love to hear how that fits into all of his drunken antic.
Guy looks older than 58. I guess it’s that healthy lifestyle he’s a-livin’.
That’s a pretty rough looking 58, unsurprisingly.
