No BBC: Islamist Terror Hezbollah's attacks on Israel were not and are not "Retaliatory."
BBC reporting [*] on March 15–16, 2026 (e.g., live coverage describing monitoring for "retaliatory strikes" in Israel and similar phrasing by anchors like Caitriona Perry on BBCAmerica referring to Hezbollah: "retaliated") has characterized Hezbollah's missile and rocket launches into Israel as "retaliatory." This framing is misleading and inverts the sequence of escalation in the current conflict.
Background on Hezbollah's Origins.
Hezbollah was founded in 1981 [*] by Iran's Islamic regime under Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, who appointed Ayatollah Ali Akbar Montazeri to oversee its establishment in Damascus, Syria—before Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon. It operates as a proxy enforcing Iran's "Wilayat al-Faqih" ideology, not as an organic Lebanese resistance group responding to Israeli actions.
(A year after Hezbollah's founding, Israel, responding after terror attacks, began taking action in Lebanon against terror infrastructure by “Palestine,” terrorists. "Operation Peace for Galilee" was immediately prompted by the June 3, 1982, attempted assassination of Shlomo Argov, Israel’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, in London. The shooting, carried out by the Abu Nidal Organization. And Arafat has already begun the infamous practice of using its own civilians in ways that led to their deaths—methods that are still employed by all "Palestinian" factions and Hezbollah).
This pattern of Hezbollah initiating or escalating attacks—often in solidarity with Iranian or allied interests—undermines narratives portraying its actions as purely defensive or "retaliatory" to Israeli aggression. Media should prioritize chronological accuracy over loaded terms that imply moral equivalence or victimhood reversal.

No wonder biased Wikipedia won’t say Hezbollah was founded in 1981.
BBC and The Guardian have long been anti-Israel 🇮🇱 propaganda sources
Islam has many proxies.
Wonder if the BBC considers DDay “retaliatory”.
Probably does, now.
Ongoing
Joseph Goebbels didn’t retire. He just moved his studio to London
Goebbels learned his craft from George Creel during WWI.
“Islamist Terror Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel were not and are not “Retaliatory.”
The whole thought on islamists attacking Israel is not retaliatory. Israel didn’t fight back during the time of Christ when they killed him. And the islamists have been attacking the Jews for thousands of years. So what makes the latest attack sending missile into Israel any different? It is an attack, not an effort to fight back or stop Israel from harming them. Israel fighting back is not retaliatory either. It is an effort to get the terrorists off their backs. And it is a long time coming...like a couple of centuries.

“Islam has many proxies.”
Two billion and growing one rape at a time!
The BBC has drifted into near Nazi propaganda. For them Israel has no right to self preservation. The very existence of a Jewish state offends them.
Check
The hornets’ nest has been knocked from its overhanging perch, and is now upon the ground, being beaten to death with clubs and fiery brands. Oh, some hornets still survive, and can land a few stings, but the looming threat of the nest from above is even yet being eliminated.
Creel was a fascinating character in his life. Thanks for the reminder about him.
But no Goebbels.
At any event, you may find this 1918 article interesting:

Yes. It’s basically what Trump stated 2 days ago about Iran. True.

ps:
I forgot to add,
radio broadcast technology was in its infancy in WW1.
almost nobody had a voice broadcast radio or wireless receiver (their mass marketing didn’t start until 1922 or 1923 and those went mostly to experimenters anyway).
The first radio broadcast station (This is San Jose Calling, later KQW San Jose, later KCBS San Francisco) did start in 1909 but audience was very small and mostly youngster-ham-experimenters.) Reliable, easy to tune sets didn’t mass market until about 1925 and they were almost all still battery-powered affairs.

(The church he sold his radio station to — screwed him after a couple of years, they were supposed to keep him on as an emplooyee but they fired him from working there...and his future was mostly poverty and a desperate series of efforts to secure recognition for his pioneeering radio broadcasting work. He wound up living in a flop house room and buried in what was little better than a pauper’s grave).
here is a PBS-broadcast video program you may enjoy instead of just reading about all this...
