Khuzestan is Iran's most oil-rich and ethnically diverse province — and the Arabs there have finally had it up to here with the theocrats who run things in Tehran. Whoever they are today, that is.
In a daring new statement, the Khuzestan Arab Tribes Assembly this week calling for "a free, democratic, and federal Iran," and that they "firmly believe that the Islamic Republic's system has violated the rights of the people of Iran."
While Khuzestan borders Iraq and is roughly one-third Arab, the assembly called the province the "beating heart of Iran" and emphasized "the protection of Iran's territorial integrity and reject any separatist or divisive project that harms the homeland of Iran."
"We see ourselves in the transitional phase from the current repressive regime toward a free, democratic, and federal Iran. We can play a constructive role alongside other compatriots in building a prosperous and united Iran."

Will Iran begin drone striking within their own border? Crazy mullahs, crazy flailing about.
Iran has 31 provinces. Imagine the panic if all 31 demand freedom.
Some Arabs refer to Khuzestan as Arabistan because of its large Arab population.
In 1970 I was conversing with an Iranian classmate at my college and asked about Khuzestan. She thought I said “Kurdistan,” so I said “Arabistan” for clarification. She told me not to call Khuzestan by that name, insisting that it belonged to Iran.
The panic will be epic if more than just this one demand it.
If you want freedom, start killing IRGC and Basij members.
...the Khuzestan Arab Tribes Assembly this week calling for "a free, democratic, and federal Iran,"...Hmm.
My spidey-sense is tingling.
Of for God’s sake. Here we go again.
For literally decades you could do web searches and learn that Iran is 95% Shiite. Then when various blogs started chasing viewcounts, and the inevitable discomfort arrived at expecting a 95% Shiite country to reject Shiite leadership, suddenly statistics got manufactured saying all those decades of data were wrong and it is nowhere near 95% Shia.
Then various squirming started declaring . . . well maybe it is majority Shiite but it’s not majority religious and Shiite leadership is still going to be rejected.
Then the stories arrived that NYT photos of enormous crowds, as in 10s or 100s of thousands, were in Tehran marching in support of the government — well those photographs/videos were declared bogus and only those showing a handful of opposition in some remote village were legit. Next we had pseudo stats of gov’t killing of 10s of thousands.
No proof.
I just checked this Khuzestan province. It is overwhelmingly Shiite. They ain’t going anywhere.
Source, please.
One of the most important lessons of the last decades is just how tribal this part of the world is. Ignore it at your own peril.
This could be the right way. If the locals want freedom, THEY KNOW who the IRGC people are, and where they are. And given some weapons, they might be able to take care of business.
Did they say anything about becoming part of Idaho?
They’ve been oppressed for the past 100 or so years, their oil stolen from under their feet. Many have converted from Shia to Sunni, a criminal offense in theocratic Iran, and some have resorted to terrorism against the regime.
Tousi makes mention of this event, as well as the girls’ soccer team in Australia. Only seven managed to escape. The rest were forced on a plane against their will, under the noses of Ausie police. Albanese lied when he said they had returned to Iran willingly. Head Basij dead. Peg-Leg Supreme Leader Hamana-homina-homina Jr. not appearing in public.

Ask an AI for descriptions of pro-government demonstrations in Teheran. Many are listed. Youtube cites for a few, but they have been taken down.
But regardless of youtube, the AI finds many cites.
Grok disagrees with you. It cites polls that show about 70% of Iranians want a secular democratic government.
FGS.
54th State ?
Not really the question. It is a Shiite-led government or a US/Israel installed puppet government.
The panic will be epic...

...if we supply them with plenty of small arms.
Thanks!
