If Thune cosponsors, then it’s probably a lock. I do hope they clean the rolls and make everyone reregister. I’d happily do it with my passport, birth certificate, whatever they want.

Which matters not a wit unless they (at minimum) change to a stand up filibuster - which he has so far declined to support.

I don’t have a current passport because America has more to see than I could ever do in a lifetime. I’ve been to 48 states and driven most of them, yet I’ve barely touched more than a few.

That said, if having a valid passport were a requirement to vote, I’d gladly get one.

Agree is is a lock or close with Thune sponsoring. But, it may also drag others on the fence into the support side which is even better.

Aren’t rat senators who are up this November worried about losing their seats?

Valid Birth Certificate will suffice for voting registration.

Thune is a very weak “leader” so I don’t know if he will put up much of a fight. He may say he tried and let it go at that. He has the power to replace the parliamentarian that Harry Reid put in place years ago but he won’t do that either.

Didn’t Fetteman say he would vote for it? Only four more votes and the VP needed? Or get a few Dems not to abstain or miss the vote.

Nope, unless there is a rule change it needs 60 votes which means it’s dead.

Just renewed mine. $130 online now for a passport renewal.
Plus the picture I had taken at Walgreens.

Hmm l think this may be another Fetterman fake. He knows it will need 60 so it is another safe and meaningless cross over vote. I believe if the bill could pass with a simple majority Fetterman would join the rest of the rats and vote no.

Absolutely meaningless. Of course he’ll sponsor something that has no chance of passing. That’s what these guys do. Makes them LOOK like they are doing something, but they are doing NOTHING!

If I remember correctly, he has to vote for it before he can later vote against it.

Just renewed mine.

We got ours renewed in 2021, so we are good until 2031 at which point I'll be 90 and probably won't know or care where I put it.

I didn't want to get in the over long lines at the DMV to get real ID, and passport renewal is easy.

I made my first foreign trips in '59 first Mexico and then Germany and since the Army sent me there, didn't need any passport.

If the Majority Leader wishes to oppose a bill, they must first cast a vote in favor of it before they can later vote against it.
