A federal judge blocked the Trump administration's attempt to force Michigan to hand over its full, unredacted voter registration rolls.
The judge ruled that federal law does not require the state to disclose voters' private information.
U.S. District Judge Hala Jarbou of the Western District of Michigan dismissed a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Department of Justice after Michigan refused to provide a complete voter list containing personally identifiable details. Jarbou, who was appointed by President Donald Trump during his first term, granted the state's request to toss out the case.
The dispute began last year as the Justice Department sought voter registration data from nearly every state as part of a broader effort to identify and prevent noncitizen voting.
In July, federal officials requested Michigan's full voter roll along with detailed information about the state's voter registration procedures.
Michigan officials responded in September by providing a redacted version of the voter list, withholding sensitive personal information such as birth dates and driver's license numbers.
State officials argued that releasing unredacted data would violate state and federal privacy protections. Unsatisfied, the Justice Department sued later that month, demanding full access.
In a 23-page ruling, Jarbou concluded that none of the federal statutes cited by the Justice Department — including the Help America Vote Act, the National Voter Registration Act, and the Civil Rights Act — give the federal government the authority to compel states to turn over private voter data.
She also warned that forcing disclosure of confidential registration information could place an unconstitutional burden on Americans' right to vote under the First Amendment.

One. When the ballots were being counted in a large county operation, the windows where they were counted had print newspaper pages taped to every window and the door were locked.
Questioned they said if someone had peered into a window they might have seen a voter’s address on a record so the privacy of the voters had to be secured.
Plain white vans had people bring in boxes of more votes in the middle of the night.
Earlier election: A man complained at the polling place that he finished his machine votes but saw the top one jump back from Trump to Hillary Clinton. Tried it again and a few seconds later it jumped back to Hillary.
Woman at the desk: “I’m sorry, sir but do you see that long line out the door? We have a lot of people wanting to vote and we can’t take time to take a machine out. Either finish your vote or leave. You can fill out an inquiry form.”
Hours later he returned with GOP people to inquire. After probably 2 hours more of voting, that machine did have an out of order sign and had been taken down. But how many Hillary votes were counted in that time? Official said votes saved on the machine would be counted as legitimate.

Jarbou was born in 1971 in Tel Keppe (Tel Kaif), Iraq and now resides in West Bloomfield. She is an ethnic Assyrian and belongs to the Chaldean Catholic denomination.

Meanwhile some places decide to publish their complete list of local CCW holders in the newspapers. Because transparency, or something.

I told the DOJ guys they don’t need the so called identifiable data to do their analysis. I think this was what made DOGE so successful. They took the data they could and married it up when they needed to. If they get the voter data they can always add SSN and such. There is usually enough personal data to verify stuff like SSn.
That “judge” is now an accomplice. Have the FBI SWAT raid them all at 3 a.m.. Flash bangs and authorization to use lethal force.
The voter information (at least for PA) can be gotten by just about anyone. By law it is available. I think this is true for most states. I have all of the PA data. It is the SSN that the DOJ insist on having with the data. They just need to get what data they can and marry it up with SSN later.

Yes.
Apparently the Democrats also have blue slip privileges on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia (D.D.C.). Their appointed judges (Boasberg, Chutkan, Mehta, etc.) are hardcore activists. The Republican appointed judges are invisible.
