It was an Honor to speak with Prime Minister Modi, of India, this morning. He is one of my greatest friends and, a Powerful and Respected Leader of his Country. We spoke about many things, including Trade, and ending the War with Russia and Ukraine. He agreed to stop buying Russian Oil, and to buy much more from the United States and, potentially, Venezuela. This will help END THE WAR in Ukraine, which is taking place right now, with thousands of people dying each and every week! Out of friendship and respect for Prime Minister Modi and, as per his request, effective immediately, we agreed to a Trade Deal between the United States and India, whereby the United States will charge a reduced Reciprocal Tariff, lowering it from 25% to 18%. They will likewise move forward to reduce their Tariffs and Non Tariff Barriers against the United States, to ZERO. The Prime Minister also committed to “BUY AMERICAN,” at a much higher level, in addition to over $500 BILLION DOLLARS of U.S. Energy, Technology, Agricultural, Coal, and many other products. Our amazing relationship with India will be even stronger going forward. Prime Minister Modi and I are two people that GET THINGS DONE, something that cannot be said for most. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

They got our $ when we bought all their crappy products.

India should buy from whichever party offers the best overall terms for INDIA.
Just as America should trade with whichever parties offer the best deal to AMERICA.

And India is completely free to buy or trade with any nation it wishes to but if it wants to trade with the U.S. then they must do what we require or do so with high tariffs or lose out with the best consumers in the world. Make America Great Again

And why should we be trying to force India to cease purchasing oil from a nation that is not our enemy? Shutting down Russian oil production can only raise the world price of oil, making gasoline less affordable to American consumers.
These same folks are negative and cynical about everything that gets posted. They see being bitter as being "realistic".
It'll force Putin to negotiate if he's no longer able to sell oil to raise revenue in order to maintain his war machine.
Otherwise, Putin can keep the war going in Ukraine for another 5-10 years.
We are trying to wrap the war up in Ukraine.
We don't have spare Patriot batteries to send to Ukraine.

Putin’s war machine is a threat to the Ukraine but not the USA. Better for us to remain neutral about the Ukraine and focus on humanitarian aid.

This would be about the 4th time this claim has been made in many months.
India would be very stupid to agree to this, making their people poorer for... what exactly.
If the USA wants to compensate them billions for this then it is their interest, but we’d be stupid to do that
