In this wide-ranging conversation, host Jack Fowler sits down with Dr. Elizabeth Spalding to confront the forgotten truths of communism’s deadly legacy.
From Hollywood’s willful blindness to the rise of socialism at home, Spalding explains why communism and socialism share the same DNA—and why freedom still needs defending.

Dr Spalding's family is one of the founders (Edwards family) to open the Victims of Communism Museum in Washington DC.
Very interesting podcast.
These people don’t know what Nazi even means.

Jack Fowler was the publisher at NR which published the notorious anti Trump edition. He is the original never Trumper.
That’s absolutely true.
So, Joe McCarthy gets the last laugh after all, but the commie crud have just about destroyed everything we love about our country.
BOOKMARK
Hollywood had no problem with Nazis until Hitler attacked the Soviet Union.
Actually Hollywood in the mid 30s kissed Hitler’s ass, because they didn’t want to lose access to the German market.
“’We Were Anti-Nazi, but Not Anti-Commuist”
You’ve been anti-America the entire way.
Nazism: National Socialist German Workers Party. AKA Communism/Socialism.
Naziism/Fascism is less dangerous than Communism. Naziism and Fascism are up front and in your face evil systems. They can be easily recognized and fought directly. Communism is a covert system that pretends to be there to help while in reality it is at least as murderous as Fascism. Maybe more. It attracts people who desire a free ride (looters, moochers, rent seekers...). But it delivers starvation, misery and death. It does this inevitably. Communists are not simply deluded idiots. They are a clear and present danger to life and liberty.

Unless you’re Jewish.
Studios maybe. But a lot of Hollywood people tried to warn of the dangers of Hitler and were quite active about it. Hollywood back then was not quite like today. But they were selectively blind to Communism and Stalin. Communism is more insidious and appels to the not-quite-bright people

Commies weren’t all that friendly to Jews either. None of that changes the fact that Naziism is a more recognizable evil to most people. Look at all the fools who scream, “Nazi”, and them welcome Communists. They just aren’t very bright. Most looters aren’t.
or Slavic, or Roma, etc.
However, it is true that Italian Fascism was much less malignant than other totalitarian ideologies - Mussolini's regime (ignoring post 1943, when he was basically Hitler's puppet) murdered very few people, in sharp contrast to both Communist and Nazi dictatorships. Mussolini preferred to encourage political enemies to leave the country, or to send goons to give them a stark warning to keep their views to themselves...or else, rather than putting people in concentration camps or lining them up in front of a firing squad.
Even his imperialist ambitions in Libya and Ethiopia, while perhaps brutal by today's standards, were no worse than the British occupiers of their colonies, and much more benevolent than e.g. Belgians in the Congo.
It's also true that Fascists and Nazis micromanaged people's lives much less than the Communists, i.e. property remained in private hands, there was no collectivization or nationalization of property to speak of under either Mussolini or Hitler.
I was lucky enough to take two courses at Fresno with VDH . Always interesting.
Hollywood absolutely loved Nazis and communists.
