Virginia Dems introduce classroom DEI curriculum law on day 1 of legislative session

As Democrats retake control of the Virginia legislature and governor's mansion, a flurry of far-left bills has been introduced to begin the legislative session, including one that would enshrine DEI in the classroom into law.

HB 614, titled "History and social science standards and instruction; historically marginalized communities," was filed on Jan. 13, a day before the session even began, by Del. Sam Rasoul, D-Roanoke.

The bill seeks to "ensure comprehensive, accurate, and inclusive education" for elementary and secondary school children, according to its summary. To fulfill that goal, the bill mandates instructional materials and standards in history and social science courses that include "contributions, perspectives, and experiences of historically marginalized communities."

Those communities, according to the summary, include racial and ethnic minorities, immigrants and refugees, women, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQ+ people, people from various socioeconomic backgrounds, individuals from various religious backgrounds and an open-ended, "any other group of individuals that the Board of Education deems appropriate, in order to affirm such communities and promote a more holistic understanding of history."

Add VA to the list of one-party radical anti-American democrat states.

Normal states must gerrymander democrat districts out of existence.

What crapola! Save the rainforests--and the children!--and just name whomever "those communities" do not include.

Yep, Indiana capitulated to the democrats.

They gave 2 seats which they could have won—to help make Hakeem Jeffries the next Speaker of the House. Very sad from a red state.

Exactly. They are responsible for the state of their ‘State’. Not somebogy else. So they’re getting what they allowed to happen. And they don’t bother to vote in the primaries where they could influence who is in the general election.

You’ve got to give today’s Democrats credit for one thing. When they have the power, they use it. And ruthlessly.

Contrast this with most Republicans. They act like it’s still 1955, and politics is a refined gentleman’s game. Trump is an exception to this. He’s a bulldog. But he can’t do it all alone.

The communists are shrewd. They didn’t openly agitate for this garbage before they had secured the public schools and the media. The communists now have so indoctrinated the public that their far left policies seem moderate to many Americans.

I once had hope, but the GOP has proven that they would rather be a vocal minority, than to legislate and use their power. It’s ok, the communists will use that power beginning later this year.

The federal government should sue for discrimination and violation of the constitution

Without Trump at the top of the ticket, we will likely see the same thing for the mid-terms……..very sad.

2021 was a fluke. Virginia was lucky to have Glenn Youngkin. Bought them time. But that's it.

We may have three years left with Trump and there's a decent chance that Gavin Newsom will become President, unfortunately.

So what you're seeing in CA and VA will spread to all 50 states.

I agree, except for the motivation of the Republicans. I don’t think they’re playing a different game, I think they’re doing what their donors want them to do. In many cases, they’re being paid to avoid using their power.

Three years ia a enough time for Newsom to screw up enough to not run.
