A left-wing activist group gathered more than one thousand people inside a Minnesota church on Saturday for “training” on how to interact with ICE agents in public, following the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good earlier this month.
The group, Monarca, said the event was intended to train “upstander legal observers” to follow and record Department of Homeland Security officers as they carry out ICE operations. Attendees were encouraged to attend protests wearing gas masks and sunglasses and to carry a pencil, with organizers noting that in Minnesota, “a pen will freeze.”
According to the New York Post, speakers at the training session, held at Roseville Lutheran Church, described ICE as a “white supremacist police force that has no oversight.” The remarks followed the January 7 shooting death of Good during an encounter with an ICE agent, after authorities said she positioned her vehicle toward the agent and began to drive. Good was reportedly affiliated with another left-wing group known as ICE Watch.
One speaker at the event criticized “conservative men” and the “misogynist goals of a white person and nationalist movement that is strangling our nation.” Another speaker told activists they should irritate ICE agents “just like a mosquito.”
Attendees were given whistles, which have routinely been used by anti-ICE activists to draw attention to enforcement operations and alert others in the area. Participants also received a 12-page manual that outlined how to use the whistles to signal ICE activity. Short sounds were described as indicating ICE was nearby, while longer blasts signaled that ICE was actively carrying out an operation.
The manual also included guidance on speaking with the media, suggesting activists use phrases like “I am here because I believe in keeping our families and communities together.”

Training “upstander legal observers.” This is where Good got her idea to run down an ICE officer. Recall, they first reported her as a “legal observer,” a term which has no generally accepted significance. “Upstander” legal observer is a term created by Samantha Power to legitimize activists who want to interfere and disrupt under the guise of being mere “observers” and therefore protected onlookers..
Any ‘church’ that advocates for the overthrow of our government or to promote leftist values needs to have any tax exempt status removed asap.
Has the “church” been charged with fraud and advised to start paying their back taxes? Freeloading piggies need to pay their fair share of taxes so their taxes can be used to feed the lazy piggies forcing the gringos to pay for them to “have a better life” while still having enough money to send back to the family in Mehico.
It’s so disturbing how many churches nowadays preach the neo-Marxist “Social Justice” religion rather than the Bible. Gramsci’s Long March through the Institutions not only conquered the media, the schools and universities, Hollywood, the music industry, etc. for the left, but it’s even made inroads into fundamentally conservative institutions like corporations and the Christian church. Sad.
“Monarcha,” eh? What happened to the “No kings” idea?
Ditto what you said.
Bkmk
The training sessions were held at Roseville Lutheran Church, which no doubt is an ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America), which is among the fastest declining churches in America - and the faster the better! - because they neither evangelical nor Lutheran nor Church. They are in America however ... sadly.
It’s doubtful that those older churches were teaching biblical principles, which is why they are taken in by the lies.
I admit to wondering why no action can be taken here. This seems like pretty cut and dried sedition, in a “church” even.
The people doing the planning of the meetings and the “education” of the attendees should be arrested and prosecuted. And the church should be stripped of its tax-free status.
Of course, to do this, we need to fix what the Left has done with he judiciary at all levels, not to mention the obstruction of the US Attorney appointees.
Start with getting rid of the “Blue Slip” crap. And get rid of the filibuster “rules” in place that allow Congress to perpetually stay “in session” so the President is unable to make recess appointments.
These things must happen. Because as soon as the Democrats obtain power, they will do these things. Republicans need to stop being such ignorant, spineless putzes and face reality.
Engaging in Lawfare will remain a problem-we simply won’t do it the way they do, and that is unlikely to change. Better to fix the problem in the courts so that Lawfare the Leftists engage in won’t stand for any significant length of time.
From AI:
1. Monarca Group (Colorado-based)
It is a minority- and woman-owned organization focused on social equity, sustainable development, and community engagement.
Who is organizing them: The group is led by Berenice Garcia Tellez, who serves as President. She is a sustainability professional who has worked extensively with the City of Denver and Boulder County.
Who is funding them: They operate as a consultancy and community-based organization. Their funding comes from government contracts and public-private partnerships. For example:
The Colorado Energy Office contracts them as “ReCharge Equity Advisors.”
They work with the National BPS Coalition and the City of Aurora on building performance and environmental justice projects.
2. Monarch Services (formerly Defensa de Mujeres)
Based in Santa Cruz County, California, this group is often associated with liberal social justice causes due to their work with undocumented immigrants and survivors of domestic violence.
Who is organizing them? The leadership includes CEO Leeann Luna and Program Director Maria Barranco.
Who is funding them? They are funded through a mix of government grants (federal and state), private donations, and foundations like the Monarch Foundation (a private family foundation based in NYC).
3. Casa Monarca (Humanitarian Aid)
This group operates in Monterrey, Mexico, and is highly active in migrant rights, which is a frequent topic in liberal political discourse.
Who is organizing them? It was founded and is directed by Luis Eduardo Zavala de Alba.
Who is funding them? They receive significant support from the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), along with private donors and academic partnerships.
Luis Eduardo Zavala de Alba is a human rights advocate, legal scholar, and Catholic priest based in Monterrey, Mexico. He is most widely recognized as the Founder and Executive Director of Casa Monarca (Ayuda Humanitaria al Migrante), a humanitarian organization dedicated to supporting migrants and refugees.
+1
Core Roles and Leadership
Casa Monarca: He founded this organization in 2014 to address the humanitarian crisis in the Monterrey metropolitan area. Under his leadership, the group provides food, legal assistance, medical care, and psychological support to migrants, primarily from Central America and Venezuela.
+1
Academic Work: He has a long-standing relationship with Yale University, where he has served as a visiting professor and lecturer for over a decade, teaching courses on international human rights and politics.
Religious Background: He is a Catholic priest (often referred to as Fr. Luis Eduardo Zavala) and frequently frames migration as a moral and theological issue rather than just a political one.
+1
Education and Expertise
He holds advanced degrees in law and human rights, which inform his advocacy work:
Ph.D. in International Law from the Gregorian University in Rome.
Master’s Degree (LLM) in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex.
Certifications: He has completed executive programs at the Harvard Kennedy School in leadership and state/local government.
Advocacy and International Impact
Zavala de Alba is active in international policy discussions. He has:
Collaborated with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Spoken at UN forums, including the UN Conference against Transnational Organized Crime, to defend the rights of migrants and refugees.
Published books and articles on human rights public policy in Mexico, focusing on the protection of human dignity and the need for due process in immigration systems.
So, these current protests are being organized out of Mexico, by probably ex-UNHRC folks who lost their US Gov funding (except for the CIA), and probably with connections to the Mexican Cartels.
“It’s so disturbing how many churches nowadays preach the neo-Marxist “Social Justice” religion rather than the Bible.”
Sadly, I’m a member of the ELCA, (My wife’s family church), and all they do is preach fear and suggest that in order for me to be ‘The Good Samaritan’, I need only embrace my ‘neighbors’, or more commonly known as illegal immigrant invaders.
I want to fly out of my seat most Sundays. Ahh, sadly, most of the men in the congregation have done just that and have left the church, or are well into their 70’s and don’t have the time, interest, or energy to seek another.
“tax exempt status removed asap”
…that and indicted for sedition
Why don’t you find a better church? If you want to stay Lutheran, Missouri synod is solid.
There may be pictures taken surreptitiously to connect
the 'church' to later terrorism charges.
Why do you stay and, by your presence and financial support, help perpetuate their apostasy and the damage they do to the souls of people as well as incite rebellion in their nation?
