The Shah was an autocrat. And his secret police were not the friendliest.
But the Shah’s son as a constitutional monarch with limited powers (like in the UK)… that could work.

I really hope this is true, but Tousi tends to spin situations in a very pro-protestor way. Once Khamenei leaves, we’ll know its true. He isn’t leaving if he thinks he has any chance of getting the police and military to crack down on the protestors.
