Major cities are erupting. IRGC are uncharacteristically restrained, and even retreating in some cities. Theory that they're scared that Israel and/or the US might intervene if they are overly violent. Other theory that they're short-handed and don't have the man-power, due to IRGC members defecting to Reza's camp. They have thus far only killed two people. In the middle of a water shortage, they tried using a water cannon, and nobody ran. They stood their ground, and maybe the pressure was insufficient to bowl over a crowd, which has the shrill voices of women prominent in their chanting. International Community doesn't GAGS, except for Trump and Bibi, who threaten intervention (please, enough, but so long as it's only threats so far). The sheath is mightier than the sword.

And Trump still won’t get his Nobel Peace Prize.
What Reza should do is offer to not prosecute any of the IRGC did not commit any crimes, if they abandon the IRGC and offer fair trials to the IRGC that did commit crimes.
“And Trump still won’t get his Nobel Peace Prize.”
Thank G-d for that! These days, it only goes to mass murderers and pathological liars, preferably both. What a blow to his reputation, if he got the Noballs P!ss Prize.
I want to believe that something will come of this. I really do.
But I’m afraid that this will end up like the last few times the Iranian people started stirring - with the internal security forces cracking the whip literally and figuratively.
The IRGC has not yet unleashed the true agents of terror, their DEI troops!
“They have thus far only killed two people. In the middle of a water shortage, they tried using a water cannon, and nobody ran.” Using a water cannon in a water shortage?
I salute you for a clever and accurate name!
We’ll see. There are a few things that might tip the scales the other way, this time. Reza Pahlavi is a rallying point, and Trump has voiced his support, something that Barry pointedly did not do, even as the IRGC mounted on motorcycles used scimitars on infants in their mothers’ arms (I’ve seen the pictures, but probably can’t find them now). Also, the fact that for whatever reason, the IRGC is using kid gloves and even retreating. And lastly but not leastly, the 12-day war.
Swinging their purses with wild abandon.
Do the arrests fast. Long drawn out trials may not help unless they’re high profile defendants. Mullas-would they actually put to death any of them? Consolidate power fast and strike while the iron is hot.
Those ‘cultural police’ that intimidated the people need to be positively identified.
Pressure was too low? Normally, a water cannon sends people who don’t run flying.
i remember the pictures from 1979, shah’s troops with guts ripped out, because Carter wouldn’t allow them to defend themselves
Probably some government regulation restricting the flow rate to 10 liters per minute.
Many cracks have appeared in the monolith of theocratic invincibility. Not only the fractious nature of the Farsi people, but the entire infrastructure of economic and commercial operation is floundering, much the same as immediately happened in the French revolution, with the common people in the streets with nothing to lose turning on their tormentors who are masquerading as some kind of religious leaders.
It will not be pretty.
Watched a YouTube that described the water crisis that Tehran is facing and that there is some sentiment to moving the seat of government far to the south, a city that would be easier for the Revolutionary Guard to defend. Don’t know how accurate the video is nor what role the water crisis is playing in the unrest.
Considering the hard left assholes who select the winner, Trump should be honored to not be selected.
We’ve heard this before.
One thing for sure. Unlike Obummer, the Trump administration is doing everything they can behind the scenes to suppport the regime change.
Where will they run to to become Terrorists
Don’t underestimate thirsty crowds. There’s no water in Tehran. Thirst will drive people insane.
