House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Wis.) called for the deportation of all Somalis linked to fraud in Minnesota, amid heightened scrutiny of the state’s handling of the illegal activity.
In a post on the social platform X, Emmer said even naturalized citizens should have their citizenship revoked so they can be deported. The lawmaker added that he is willing to pass legislation to make such a move legal.
“I have three words regarding Somalis who have committed fraud against American taxpayers: Send them home. If they’re here illegally, deport them immediately; if they’re naturalized citizens, revoke their citizenship and deport them quickly thereafter,” the No. 3 House Republican wrote. “If we need to change the law to do that, I will.”
“Our nation will not tolerate those who take advantage of our charity and refuse to assimilate into our culture,” he added.
The Department of Homeland Security on Monday said federal authorities were on the ground in Minnesota as part of a “massive investigation on childcare and other rampant fraud.”
Federal prosecutors announced earlier this month that they were significantly broadening an investigation into fraud in the North Star State, charging an additional six people in the schemes, bringing the total number of people charged to 92.
All but eight of the 86 people previously charged in connection to the fraud are of Somali ancestry, the New York Times has reported, citing prosecutors. A “vast majority” are Americans citizens, the outlet said.
Officials say they are looking into suspicious billing practices in 14 Medicaid-funded programs, after earlier investigating fraud of three state-run safety net programs, according to the Times. A preliminary assessment, cited by prosecutors, suggests more than half of the $18 billion in taxpayer funding spent on the programs was likely stolen, the Times reported.

The Republican party does not support mass deportation of illegal and criminal aliens, and the Democrats oppose it.
Therefore, it is not going to happen, not without a change of government.

Depending on how much fraud occurred, wouldn’t the fraudsters have to face criminal penalties? Would that mean sending them to CECOT or an overseas prison? Otherwise many will just go back home where they’ve squirreled away a pile of dough.
OTOH a native US citizen would spend 5-10 years in prison.

Emmer has comments from 2015 dismissing complaints about Somali’s.
He’s either covering himself or it may have been simple pandering for votes as reps are in continual campaign mode.
Needs revetting. We don’t find many true conservatives in politics from Minnesocold—Mike Lindell being one exception.
Gov. Pawlenty was 15+/- years ago and he wasn’t MAGA red, as I remember.
Because, Republicants. Still, airdropping them from C5s back onto Somalian feculent soil is right thing to do.
And EVERYONE engaged in fraud in the US. Deport them all, US citizens, illegals, and legals! Ostracize them all permanently. Change all laws that impede this. Divest US citizens guilty of fraud of their citizenship permanently. It can be done.

Emmer is MN rep from NW Minneapolis suburbs. He’s gop whip. Apparently he welcomed in the Somalians in early 2000s. But so did papa Bush in 90s.

This is what happens when a RINO like Emma tries to flip or even just talk tough. The Hill accuses him of fraud.
I don’t see Tom Emmer as a man of courage.
He could have raised a protest about the heavy influx of Somalian welfare recipients more than 10 years ago, but kept his mouth shut in compliance with the Dems.
