It’s possible that the shooter simply did not know that guns were illegal. But as the saying goes, ignorance of the law is no excuse.
The “mass shooting” was made possible by subhumans in the government who never thought that freeloading, thieving thugs looking for “a new life” financed by the gringos would bring guns with them to their new assylums.
An often misunderstood Australian Law, it's Illegal for a Law Abiding Australian Citizen, in good standing, that supports their children, pays taxes, goes to church, and donates to charities, to have a gun in Australia.
Immigrants, (legal or illegal), murderers, rapists, pedophiles, Islamic Terrorists, and Five Eyes Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax Collaborators can have all the guns they want, to shoot anyone they want, anytime they want.
You can find a gun in Australia if you know where to look. Like in a mosque.

Guns are not ‘illegal’ per se; we have an Australian who posts here occasionally who has corrected us on that.
But they have a lot of restrictions and regulations - like many of our own cities.

How can you trust so called AI?
It's not well known, but Australia knowingly allowed thousands of Nazis to settle there after WWII, even though they'd already allowed Jews escaping the Holocaust to settle there first. I watched a British documentary a while back titled "Revenge: Our Dad the Nazi Killer, "about 3 Melbourne brothers whose father and uncle had been partisan fighters in Eastern Europe during WWII. It was believed that some of those fighters, including the father and uncle of these three men, had formed a group to exact revenge on Nazis that showed up in Australia. The three sons hired a private detective to search for evidence of their father and uncle's involvement, but nothing ever surfaced to link the deaths and disappearances of those Nazis to their family members.
You could prove that it's wrong, if it's wrong and you aren't too lazy. Or you could just mindlessly post inane questions you could easily answer yourself.
