Gavin Newsom failed California. America, don’t make the same mistake

America, listen carefully. There is a man in California who presents himself as the embodiment of progressive elegance. Impeccable suits, polished rhetoric, and a vision that sounds transformative until you look at the results. His name is Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA).

For eight years, he has governed the Golden State with a style that puts spectacle ahead of substance. Now the rest of the country is being courted by his ambitions, and it falls to those of us who have watched this administration up close to sound the alarm: A Newsom presidency would be a fiscal and governance disaster of historic proportions.

Last month, the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s Office released its latest fiscal outlook. The numbers are brutal: an $18 billion deficit in 2026-27 that widens to roughly $35 billion in annual structural red ink starting in 2027-28. These are not passing problems. They are the direct result of a governing philosophy that treats taxpayer dollars as unlimited and accountability as optional.

Consider the evidence. California High-Speed Rail was sold as a world-class project: Los Angeles to San Francisco in under three hours for $33 billion, to be finished around 2020. A great idea in theory. Why shouldn’t the richest state in the richest nation have modern infrastructure? I was 12 when voters approved it in 2008 and had no say in the matter. Today I’m 29. The price tag has exploded past $135 billion, the timeline is a decade late, and not 1 mile of true high-speed track is running. What we have instead is a monument to mismanagement. Expensive, endless, and going precisely nowhere fast.

Democrats want failure. What did you think “Build Back Better” meant?

To build back, you must destroy first. And Newsom will be real good at it.

I can’t imagine the horror of a Newsom presidency. Sadly, half the country will vote for this complete incompetent. Hope the GOP is working on the ads now.

Perhaps the old way was better. No primaries. Instead D and R party insiders met at a convention, and picked the nominees. Then the voters chose between the two.

Now flashy smiles often win the day during primary season.

And yes bill Clinton, I’m talking about you.
And yes Barack Obama, I’m talking about you.

And yes Gavin Newsom, I’m talking about you.

Democrats just fall all over for a smooth talker. They associate gravitas with intelligence and competence.

God knows people like me can only take so much.
Such a thing would be beyond horror.

I have read that those who listened to the Nixon/Kennedy debates over the radio thought that Nixon won the debates, whereas those who watched it on television felt Kenedy won.

No country could survive two lame and corrupt leaders like Newsome and Biden, in one decade!

Newsom represents exactly what the democrats think of the voters.

They think they lost because of the voter’s racism and sexism. Ergo, slap a white side up there pumping the same ole brewsky and that is a shoo in.

Reminds me of how Obama was presented to us by the media - with idiots falling all over themselves to virtue signal that he was going to be the "greatest thing ever."

All you have to do with Newsom is look at the price of gas (≈$5.00/gallon in California) - and the FACT that he has driven out two refineries - he tried to find a buyer for one but no oil company has come forward - those two refineries provided ≈ %20 percent of California's gas, now Newsom will have to import even more even though California has massive reserves of oil (he's trying to open up the oil fields in Central California, you can be sure this is for his POTUS run).

One oil company that is leaving told Newsom this terse statement: "We can no longer do business in this state!"

He will take his Commie "Green Policies" nation wide.
