Mexican national arrested for driving semi truck without CDL, slamming into school bus in WA triggering 6-vehicle pileup

A Mexican national was arrested Thursday after Washington State Patrol said he caused a six-vehicle pileup on Interstate 5 in Lacey when the car-hauling semi he was driving without a commercial driver's license slammed into the back of a school bus just after 7:00 am on I-5 near Martin Road in Lacey.

Authorities identified the driver as Juan Hernandez-Santos, 40, of Huentitlan, Mexico, and said four people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Troopers said there were two adults on the school bus at the time of the crash, but no students were on board.

[snip]

Troopers said Hernandez-Santos did not have a commercial driver’s license, insurance, or a valid medical card, documents required for the legal operation of a commercial rig. Trooper Kameron Watts described the wreck as involving “a lot of negligence” and said commercial vehicle enforcement officers were dispatched to conduct a full inspection of the truck and the paperwork commercial drivers are required to carry. Troopers also cited speed too fast for conditions and following too closely as contributing factors.

This shouldn't be happening in our country. The company that allowed him behind the wheel of that vehicle should be criminally charged.

Why are these companies getting let off the hook?

This guy did not purchase his own truck

The DMV is out of control but the government is out of control esp in that state.

If they’d start charging companies with criminal violations and issuing large fines, it would reduce the number of these instances. However, I saw an article yesterday where a truck driver removed the magnetic sign on his truck door and replaced it with another one (with another name) after being charged with a moving violation.

The company that hired him needs to lose their license if not it won’t be the last time.

Too many stories, too many crimes. The media treats these as isolated instances that are not “representative of the hardworking immigrants”. They lie. It IS representative of their culture.

Even Washington state and Oregon have a small number of worthwhile good people, all of whom should be outraged at the soft on crime governments there.

Allowing Dems in office is disgraceful.

Were I a victim of this crash, I’d sue the hauling company and those who contracted with it into oblivion.

“Why are these companies getting let off the hook?”

almost all of these “companies” are nothing more than a guy who has a tiny office and a desk and a telephone and the guy who owns it answers the telephone himself, and maybe has a little website ... these “companies” sub out ALL of their hauling jobs to illegals with their own trucks ... and these companies are like cockroaches: stamp out a few and another dozen take their place ... and it’s not just auto hauling, it’s ALL small hauling jobs ... most of the legit companies
were long ago driven out of business by cut-rate illegal haulers ...

https://www.google.com/search?q=bankrupt+trucking+companies

do note that the liars at google list all of the reasons for failures except the ACTUAL reason: cut-rate illegal haulers ..

Not too long ago I read somewhere that the U.S. Post Office is the biggest user of these illegal contractors and a Senior VP had the arrogance to complain to Sean Duffy and asked DOT to look the other way.

The trucks should be registered. They are expensive.

Since this accident happened a few miles from Olympia, WA, the State Capital, the WA Governor rushed to the accident scene to immediately apologize that the WA DMV had been negligent in not issuing a CDL.

The last report on the driver is that he spent the rest of the day at the Governor’s Mansion recovering from this grievous oversight by the WA Government.

“This shouldn’t be happening in our country. ... “

The best way to bring a new government, (communism), to America is to collapse the existing government. Dems and their backers seem intent on this. Meanwhile, Dem voters don’t care unless they are directly impacted.

Where do these "poor illegals" get the dough to buy a semi?

Your basic Tractor is at least $50,000.

Who is making them loans?
