Majority rules or so I'm told. Quite
often the loser is never satisfied.
And at times the winner is never at
all completely satisfied.

What kind of weirdo gets off on trolling a forum, and getting kicked off repeatedly for being an ass?

Besides stalking people he’s trying to develop a lie about?

First Elderberry, now delta7.

And you just admitted to your multiple screen names...

The problem here is that congress feels it needs to spend in order to buy votes to get re-elected. That’s basically how our system works now. The voters seem to even encourage it.

Yep, and they made it even easier by inintroducing the concept of CRs, instead of actual budget legistation, But don't forget, they have created "receipients" of the trreasury that enrich themselves as well, with agencies auch as USAID, and I doubt that is the sole agency that operates to function for that objective.

We have a serious spending problem. National debt will soon hit $40 trillion yet the spending continues unabated.

The Speaker of the House can only at best try to get a majority on what a consensus is seeking a majority on. The Speaker cannot command a majority that does not exist, or command one into existence.

Without identifying and blaming specific members unwilling to cut federal expenses, you’re complaint is meaningless.

Actually, even then… we never CUT spending. We just managed to keep the increase in spending lower than revenue growth for a year or two…. And SHAZAM!!! Out of nowhere, the budget balanced.

Sadly, I think we’re too far gone for that path now. We weren’t paying 25% of our revenue on debt service back then.

I hate the fact that we’re going to be proven right. It’s gonna hurt. Own hard assets. Home, gold, silver, guns and bullets. It’s gonna get ugly.

The Clinton blue dress scandal helped me find FR. Same for you ?

Exactly. I got here when Clinton wasn't having sex with "that woman."

And yep, hard assets. Already in metals, weapons, real estate and occasionally oil. I too wish/hope for a solution but do not see a way around severe consequences. What consequences and when remain to be seen.

The math simply does not work. It can't. It's already not working. Over $100 billion owed last month in interest alone. Not debt mind you - only interest for one month.

It's at the heart of the majority of problems we're having now, but most can't see it. Hardly anyone even talks about it... including our "leaders."

This is the part that disheartens me the most. Many leaders talked about it plenty, in the past. The Gramm-Rudman spending limits actually turned the needle in a good way. But now, as we seem to actually IN the 'final phase'... ie, Currency value collapsing, spending out of control and untouchable, debt service exploding.... Everyone seems to scared to even say anything. I suspect, they fear Trump's wrath if they don't pretend "eveything is beautiful, more beautiful than ever before".

DOGE was an encouraging start, but... in the end, Congress wouldn't do ANY OF IT. At least, DOGE was able to expose just how deep the Deep State corruption in the spending machine truly is. Far worse than even people like you and I suspected. They CAN'T stop the spending... they LIVE on it.

If we are to have any hope, I guess... we have to completely change our system of financing government. Payment MUST come from a broader base. That's one of the good things about tariffs. Trump has been making some noise about eliminating income tax. I haven't seen what the plan is to replace them. We need something radical, and we need it quickly. I think time is running out.
