The purchasing power of the dollar was destroyed by the democrat party and now they are blaming Trump

Yep. Trying to imagine those on fixed incomes or SS. I'd guess they've had nearly 40% of their buying power completely wiped out by inflation. Brutal!

Trump admin threw trillions more at covid and spending than biden ever did. Enough of the insanity of r’s being better stewards than dems. They all suck on spending, and prepare accordingly.

Inflation is cumulative. Add up all the inflation during Biden regime, and people are still living with it.

The problem with this is FRED (St. Louis Fed which pays for this misinfo) and crAP intentionally exploit the statistical noise. What really matters is year-over-year, and you can adjust the chart to show that 2022, sentiment cratered as hard as it ever has in the post-Carter era, and is rising steadily year over year.

“The Democratic mantra for 2026 will be “affordability, affordability, affordability…”

Of course it didn’t matter a whit to them when inflation skyrocketed during the first few months of the Biden administration.

It seems there's mass black friday hysteria everywhere I look. The only thing
that is going to stop most these bozos is when they hit their credit card limit.

Anyone who does grocery shopping understands that inflation is pretty brutal.

The cost of producing food has skyrocketed since the invasion of Ukraine. That has taken a couple of growing seasons to finally show up on our tables.

The same holds true with fuel costs to transport stuff.

I am retired, so my income is not changing to meet that inflation. My wife works for a health care system that is being bankrupted by so many people walking away from their bills. We are pretty sure they will be out of business in the next three months.

So, my confidence in “surviving” is pretty high. Do I think I will be spending a lot more on “consumer” goods? Nope.

The Covid spending sent the economy into an inflationary spiral. Keep in mind that some of that was Trump’s doing as well.

And the spending of the Congress hasn’t slowed down.

It’s the entire system that needs a lesson in basic economics. Republican and Democrat alike are responsible for the mess we are in.

The very first sentence of the blog declares:

“The middle class is cracking, but if you want a statistic that “proves” this, there isn’t one.”

“The last I’ve heard is about 50% of people live near paycheck to paycheck...”

Meaningless. You can make huge money and live paycheck to paycheck and many do.

How do you equate that to reports of mayhem on cruise ships, etc

because the mayhem-stirrers are likely beneficiaries of generous taxpayer goodies and can live more nonchalantly.

the honest middle-class (those who wish to live independently and without gov dependency) are likely abstaining from such expenditures/travels.

Weird troll, grocery prices have dropped fairly dramatically the past year in WA State. Yet you parrot the parrots.

Why would Mr. & Mrs. Y buy a house for $400,000 if both Republicans and Democrats are promising to make houses significantly cheaper?

“Rich people are spending like there’s no tomorrow.”

I know a guy, everybody think he’s “rich”. He makes $500k a year. He’s early 60’s. Toys abound at his two homes, one sits on large acreage. I asked him what his retirement plan was. He said, “I’m trying to get my IRA up to $1mm” WHAT??!
