Yesterday, Speaker Johnson told us he was worried that if we declassified items in the files without consulting the intelligence agencies, it would be "incredibly dangerous" because, uh, critical sources must be protected.
Leftwing commentators were quick to come to their own wild conclusions:

I'm concerned that now [Trump] is opening a flurry of investigations and I believe they may be trying to use those investigations as a predicate for not releasing the files ... I'm afraid they're going to try to use a provision of the law that allows you not to release these materials if they're subject of an ongoing investigation ... the release of which would harm the ongoing investigation.

I watched a video today of Epstein’s bio. His quick ascension from college dropout to being an advisor with POA for a billionaire, then private consulting can only be explained by his being an intelligence operative, or a miracle.

If I recall correctly that came out as evidence in his trial. He had been downloading kiddy porn from the internet onto his computer.
What they didn’t find is any videos that Epstein might have made, nothing that included any of the girls in his orbit. It was all stuff that is floating around the internet if you hunt for it.
But it wouldn’t surprise me at all if spook agencies of his acquaintance had set up honey traps on his island. If they did, that’s where the “files and videos” everyone expects to find would actually be. And you aren’t going to get to see any of those, ever, assuming that any exist. All conjecture on my part, there’s no evidence that this occurred.
What gave me the idea is a honey trap operation that is rumored to have been operated by people associated with the Watergate breakin. A couple of retired CIA types involved with the Plumbers. Heidi Riken stumbled across it if memory serves.

A researcher ( cannot remember name) wrote that Epstein was actually brilliant at cracking into hidden dark money accounts and recovering “ debts” for billionaires like Adnan Khashoggi ( arms dealer mercenary prob tied to intel orgs or at least a source) …then structuring their accounts to protect them from being raided. His commissions were considerable from extremely grateful clients both in cash and other assets. And his reputation as a go-to guy for “special” financial transactions was secured among the global billionaire set.
He reportedly had multiple passports to facilitate travel, including Saudi. Had an apartment in Paris…multiple properties he owned or was given…where his sexual vices were also accommodated in Europe. We dont hear much about that.

My sense of Epstein is he peddled the mystique of “who he knew” (no matter how little actually) to sell himself as an influencer, creating a reputation as such to a far greater degree than the reality.
