MAMDANI'S PICK FOR SCHOOLS CHANCELLOR: A FIRE ALARM-PULLING POL AND OTHER SURPRISES
Jamaal Bowman, the ex-congressman who once pulled a fire alarm to delay a vote (because why not?), is pushing hard to become NYC’s next schools chancellor.
He’s all about leading a “revolution” in public schools, and has enlisted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to help him land the gig.
But not everyone’s sold. Bowman has a history of interesting choices, like running a school without a principal’s license for years and spreading 911 conspiracy theories.
Former Mayor Bill de Blasio isn’t convinced Bowman’s the right fit, and some people are worried about his checkered past.
Still, Bowman is one of at least four candidates Mamdani’s considering for the job, and with NYC schools facing massive issues like plummeting enrollment and poor test scores, who knows what will happen next.
One thing’s for sure, this chancellor race is gonna be a wild ride.

Interesting, though not surprising. The vicious communist/jihadist mayor is targeting innocent children in the initial salvo of his NYC Jihad.
If I were a student, I would pull a fire alarm to delay a test (because why not?).
At this point, we all just need to go with it and see what he does. The more outrageous the picks, the better. Its going to be an amusing four years for those of us who don’t live in New York City.

If indeed Mamdani has not made his pick yet then the headline is false.
So when kids start pulling fire alarms in school it’ll be OK.

Retired urban high school teacher here (not NYC). My district has eliminated the true honors academies and most honors courses. All in the name of diversity.
It’s heartbreaking. And one reason urban public schools are beyond saving.
Doesn’t matter who Mamdani picks. Expect to see the same in NYC, if it hasn’t happened yet.
