The director of the 2025 Miss Universe pageant in Thailand sure gave off strong Colonel Saito vibes when he berated Miss Mexico as a "dumbhead." This caused a walkout by the other contestants as the poor director screamed at them to STOP! Later the director, in an act of public humiliation, apologized during a ceremony for acting like a jerk. You just know he felt inside like Colonel Saito did when he was forced to backtrack on his rule about officers having to work on the Bridge On The River Kwai. Interestingly, that bridge in reality is also located in Thailand.

I read her response to being spoken to in a rude and demeaning manner. She called him out right here right now!
Suddenly he (seemed to) realize he had made a fool of himself and lost her respect. Without those young women, he is the King of Nothing!
Finally a Miss Universe event that did not feel completely staged.
He is left thinking: “What a world! What a world!”
Last time I recall watching this was when Bob Barker was hosting it. Apparently they’ve allowed trans to participate since 2012 so I’m very glad I’ve not watched any of that.
I doubt gen-z has a clue about Bridge on the River Kwai
No CGI or car chases or homos in it.
