The Great Displacement

Illinois continues to hemorrhage wealthy residents. Since 2000, the state has lost roughly 1.6 million people — third most in the nation, behind only California and New York. Chicago’s population, even with the recent influx of migrants, is now at its lowest level in nearly a century.

Illinois and Chicago’s sanctuary policies, routinely framed in moral terms, now function as political instruments — devised to offset population declines and protect Democratic dominance in state and city government. Yet these policies fail to replace the lost income. A 2025 Pew Research Center report estimates Illinois hosts approximately 550,000 illegal migrants, sixth most in the nation — nearly half of whom reside in the Chicago metropolitan area.

The cost to this exodus is staggering. Thus far, Illinois taxpayers have subsidized migrant support programs to the tune of roughly $3 billion statewide, including as much as $600 million by the City of Chicago. According to Chalkbeat, the number of migrant children enrolled in Chicago Public Schools this year ranges from 8,900 to as many as 17,000,

Illinois' gerrymandered political system and billionaire governor prioritize government expansion over private‑sector vitality — fueling growth in bureaucracy with ever‑rising state and local taxes as Pritzker alone raised state taxes and fees 55 times taking in nearly $7 billion annually despite receiving over $13 billion in federal COVID funding.

This explains why Pritzker opposes "Operation Midway Blitz." Illinois would lose Congressional seats and the Democrats hold on Illinois politics would weaken.

Americans have been rejecting urban life since the 1950s. New York had suburbs in 1900.

Nonsense, the dead will simply vote in greater numbers! Democrat, of course.

You can run but you can’t hide.

The Democrat plan is to flood poor people everywhere.

Illinois is a dysfunctional state.

Not too many years back i was in Illinois working with the ex husband of a close cousin who was clearly suffering from dementia and could not care for herself. She owned her home but had only a small income.

Some weeks before I arrived an application had been filed
to get her on Medicaid. I had arrived in late November. Knowing a long term care facility seemed necessary for her, and Medicaid could help cover those costs we kept trying to pursue the state to find the status of the Medicaid application, By January we had no answer. We went to the hospital social worker person who had helped initiate the application. She said she’d try to find some contact in the state’s bureaucracy that might help. A week later she reported her contact had found the desk that had the application, They also told her we should not expect results very soon. There in that January that office was working on the Medicaid applications that were filed the previous June. That describes the state government the Dims created and run.

Leftist states are run like third world countries.

The solution to the problem you described was bribery.

The first trick would be to figure out who needed to be bribed.

That information is usually held by “fixers” who are middle men who connect those who want favors with those who can grant them.

(This is first hand verified information based on my previous life in business in one of those states—past the statute of limitations btw. A friend of mine was one of those professional “fixers”.)

I am certain that if my poor cousin or I had good Dim party connections no bribery would have been needed. Her Medicaid application would have gotten quick approval.

If a 700,000 exodus costs the state a congressional seat there aren’t enough rich folk to make a difference. Middle class is too stuck to move.

Since the Obama Administration, Democrat immigration policies have been intended to provide a steady supply of Democrat voters, at the expense of the safety and welfare of American citizens.

That’s what happens when the Dims ruin a state. The wealthy who supported them move out, reducing the tax base, leaving the middle class and lower middle class to support the government handouts the wealthy dims voted for, and the middle class and lower middle class cannot support moving out. The hole in the donut keeps getting bigger as the donut itself shrinks.

We should offer the middle class internal migration incentives to leave the Dims the messes they created.
