For a couple years now I haven’t been able to figure out who’s winning. It changes every week but then again I could care less since it’s a European problem.
I have followed the war very closely with independent sources mostly.
It seems Russia attacked Ukraine’s energy sector fairly often a year or 2 ago then sort of backed off. I assumed they gave up as they calculated the gain to loss ratio wasn’t width it.
Now I’m wondering if they were not simply testing it. If Ukraine has a bad winter AND Russia knocks out their power grid some are saying we might see a mass exodus (again) of civilians as they flee harshly cold living conditions to Western Europe.. As in millions.
Colombia/Venezuela?
Ukrainians lived without relying on electricity in the 1840s.
I suspect Ukraine doesn’t normally get colder than Warsaw.
Ukraine is probably the fourth largest arms maker in the world (after the USA, China and the Russian Federation).
It takes electricity to run the machine tools and molding machines.
Putin voices concern for and support of the Russians living in Ukraine, but then tries to make life hell for everyone living in Ukraine. His real intentions appear to be Russian expansion and trying to reestablish Russia as a USSR type world power.
The operations in South America and the Caribbean are The Monroe Doctrine with missiles. The targeted regimes have made deals with the CCP and Russia. Once the regimes are out of power those deals will go to Exxon.
As to who is winning in Ukraine, it’s nobody right now. But one possible reason the latest Putin meeting is canceled is due to the Russian economy. It’s on full war setting, meaning if the war stops, they get an instant recession. We know what happens to leaders when their country goes into a painful period of adjustment. As for Ukraine, it gets enough power, fuel and portable generators to outlast most problems. All Ukraine and the EU have to do is hang on long enough.
If the war goes on long enough, physics and economics will decide who won. I think Trump is desperate to keep Russia from collapsing so 5,000 nuclear war heads don’t end up on eBay and Amazon.
I have a feeling that President Putin has finally decided that this war will end with Ukraine’s unconditional surrender. Just like the old way wars have concluded. Cease fires have become quite trite and only leave unresolved issues to flare up again. You don’t have to like it, it just is. And the UN sits there with it’s thumb up it arse, as usual.

Ive became more Ukraine leaning neutral as it seems Putin has accomplished most of his stated goal (protecting the Russian minorities in eastern Ukr). So why isn’t he trying to bargain now for peace? If there are some ethnic Russians still in the Donbass why does he not state that: “I want the rest of the Donbass to return Russians there and make a buffer zone. In retrain I will promise….x, y.z”.
Instead he seems bent for total victory.

I’ve thought that since day one that the Putin/Russkies wanted a place to help US politicians launder money stolen from us by our politicians at fed, states, defense contractors and so forth.
LOL, the only think shocking is that in day 1336 of Putin's invasion, Russia couldn't establish air-superiority over a neighboring Ukraine that basically had no air force.
Israel established air-superiority over Iran in 3 days.
I’ve said from the beginning that the only thing I’m sure of is lies from all the sides, and there are a lot more than two.
I think you’ll find that on the predominance of posts, on any forum, people comment without ever having read or watched what was posted.
