I spent several hours putting together this 9:22 presentation that spells out how True the Ballot intends to address a deliquence that I have practiced from the time I first voted until now.
The background music is Chic Corea's tune, "Friends," with the timing and tone well-suited.
While I have had fruitful conversations with citizens and public officials alike, there has been a reported undercurrent behind my back asking, "Who is he to question our integrity?"
I am Joe Citizen, who has questioned his own integrity first. Who among us thinks it is wise to participate in civil governance when most of us cannot even state the fundamental aims of self-government, let alone understand them?
I will be presenting this to my local Tea Party group this week. The concept is not difficult, but the execution will need input. For example, I am not satisfied with the examination questions drawn up so far. There are at least 2,000 individuals who need help in understanding/stating how their office fulfills one or more Preamble aims.
The bottom line is making ballot access contingent upon public examination in view of the Preambles, not to be graded, but to be on display.
