no he’s not.
How's that?
“... it’s reported that ...”

I call BS.
He’s going to get rid of Maduro and then un-nationalize all the oil facilities that Chavez nationalized
As I understand it, this is a statement about the cartels and defining them as non-state actors. We are not at war with a nation state (e.g. Venezuela). We are at war with drug cartels. I would be surprised if Trump wants to seize ports and airfields and other land controlled by the nation state of Venezuela if we are not at war with Venezuela.
“How’s that?”
No kidding. He wrote a memo to Congress granting himself war powers? Sure...
Is Maduro on the cartel payroll?
Fake news
Think of it as Trump blocking fentanyl imports from China coming through Venezuela.
Prob same typewriter used for Urgent Fury and Just Cause.
Only Congress can declare war. LBJ changed that and the mess of Vietnam.
No, he isn’t!
Let’s hope this is just one big bluff. Sinking smuggling boats on the high seas is a great idea. And it should continue. But putting boots on the ground anywhere is not something I voted for.
And that’s because mission creep is a real thing.
“”AMERICA’S military is preparing to seize ports and airfields in Venezuela, it’s reported - as Donald Trump declared a full-scale war on drug cartels.””
Sounds like full-scale war to me! This means US boots on the ground.
It’s amazing how “almost” everything changes with enough time. I was in Caracas, Venzuela in 1984. It was calm, peaceful (boring, even), and if you had told me this would be happening now, I’d have called you crazy. I vastly underestimated how insane the world would become in just a few decades. That said, I still kissed the ground when I returned to the USA. There’s no place like this nation, hands down.
If Trump does this, he should be impeached and removed.
Bluster and saber-rattling.
> Only Congress can declare war. LBJ changed that and the mess of Vietnam. <
It’s disgraceful how easily Congress gave up that very important power. I’d say it actually started with the Korean War.
Or maybe I should have said Korean Police Action?
Venezuela was the richest nation in South America.
Now it’s a third world sh!thole................................
Same for many central and south american countries. Mexico stands out on that, the eighties were a huge turning point.
