I smell a huge business opportunity. Everybody LOVES to eat on airplanes.

With the right stews, er, waitresses, er, servers, it'll be a goldmine...

it really makes you wonder if the cost of breaking and hauling outweighs the value of the aluminum and aluminum alloys in those machines ... maybe if someone hauled in a tub grinder that can grind up aluminum and spit the pieces into an open box hauler ... plus loaders and thermic lances for the breaking ...

Well, we already have The Hangar in Casper, WY, so this would be a natural follow-on. The Hangar is literally the hangar at the original Casper airport, and one of my favorite restaurants there. The suburb of Casper (Barr Nunn) where it is located is built on the old airport runways, which makes for some VERY wide streets.

Catnipan, you win this thread.
Living as I do on the East Coast, I’m just glad to learn that the largest news source in Wyoming is the Cowboy State Daily.

A restaurant in an old airplane? That’s actually a very good idea. There’s a hot dog shop near me. Nothing special about the food. But it’s located in an old railroad car.

The shop is always busy. I suspect it’s because of the look of the place.

Was just at PIMA in Tucson last month (across the street from Davis-Monthan).

They have some serious aircraft there. It's like aviation Mecca.

1 large 300-400 series excavator with a hydraulic thumb would crunch them up pretty good and then haul it off in a sidedump

Now that the weather’s cooling off a bit, I need to visit the Pima Air & Space Museum again myself. It’s been a while.
