On a recent thread in Link-In, a UCSD student was commenting about how she parked by the glider port and walker to campus. It saved her $600 in parking permit fees. For comparison, when I was going to school at UCSD from 1974 to 1976, the parking fee was $46 per year. Registration fees were $212/quarter.

When my family returned to San Diego in 1969, I could buy a "dog food taco" at Jack-in-the-Box for 17 cents. The price today is $1.29 for two of those same tacos.

Using silver as a benchmark, the 2025 dollar is worth about two cents in 1964 money.
