It's a very strange reaction by Politico's senior editor Michael Schaffer to the federal takeover of the Washington, D.C. police force. In fact you could categorize that reaction as disappointment as you can see in his Thursday piece expressing amazement as to "Why Washington Residents Aren’t Flooding the Streets to Protest Trump."
As if to emphasize that disappointment, the subtitle chimes in with this frustrating (for Schaffer) observation: "DC is built for protests. But after Trump’s takeover, they aren’t happening."
Where, oh where are the mass protests against the federal takeover of the DC police? Let us take a journey with poor Schaffer down Disappointment Lane:

Trump did this to DC because DC is not a “Real” city as all other cities in the USA are. It is a district, Governed by Congress, for the national government to operate in.
Because it is governed by a body of politicians that are afraid to alienate a special group of people, you get a shiite hole. I’m glad to see someone not worried about re-election, finally do something about it.

This is an example of letting the liberals set the frame of an issue.
The federal government always had ultimate control of the DC police. The Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia was created by an act of Congress in August 1861 by the 37th Congress. The federal government always had the power to insert its control over the District of Columbia.
This is a case of the federal government asserting its Constitutional power to reclaim certain delegated powers, which is not a "takeover" of DC or its police.

When the democrats try to claim that serious crime in D.C. is a fiction, a very public figure needs to point out the cold blooded murder of Seth Rich, a DNC employee. Did they forget?
Think 3rd world countries. Too often the public waited for the military to take charge-too much chaos.
