One of Germany’s biggest mistakes in WWII was over engineering their war machines....and that lives on today in the form of some German car manufacturers.
German tanks broke down so frequently, crews destroyed more of their own tanks to keep them out of allied hands than the allies ever did, and this thing was probably the same way. Add in rushing production and it never stood a chance....thank God.
Having said all that, the idea certainly was WAY ahead of its time.
If the Germans had developed that jet fighter a year or two earlier and put it into action, the outcome of the war may have been very different.
After the war ended, Jack Northrup himself flew to Germany to see this advanced (at the time) jet fighter for himself.
