I wonder if all that carefully sorted Italian trash ends up in the same dump, like what happens in American places that require recycling. I’d bet it does.

Sounds like an ethnic joke.

Can you imagine how many times a day one hears “you put the paper in the wrong bin”? No one can scream like an Italian woman! No offense meant - just fact!

In my Florida county, recycling all goes in the same bin.

In Turin, there were huge drop boxes[~ 6’x6’x10’] on the street where you’d put the stuff in. If there were four drop boxes in front and you had the fifth form of recyclable material, you’d have to walk until you found the right drop box.

In Milan, my AirBnB host kept his recycling containers on his balcony. One would have to put on shoes to put out the trash and recycling.

Your image doesn’t post, but one doesn’t need it to know what businessman/philosopher said that.

Maybe it's my browser or something.

Anyway, time to run down to the BadaBing.

“I wonder if all that carefully sorted Italian trash ends up in the same dump”

Some of it winds up on the street in Turin.

A lot of it winds up on the street in Genoa. Some of the locals can’t figure out how to open the drop boxes.

We have our own composter for our garden, so none of our organic waste is thrown out.

In northern NH, most of our plastic is converted to diesel fuel and home heating fuel.

All of our paper used to be recycled, but there isn't a market for low grade paper right now, so we throw that out.

Corrugated cardboard and newsprint, fliers, etc are all recycled.

Glass, aluminum and steel cans are recycled.

It takes almost no effort to throw stuff in different bins.

One would think conservatives would want to conserve, get the most use possible out of something.

I've been doing everything possible to recycle for over 60 years, long before the leftist kooks glomed onto it and considering them messes they leave wherever they gather in public, one wonders if they actually recycle in private.

In Germany one must attend classes in order to purchase a fishing license.

From what I read Italy is a super popular tourist destination these days. American love the place, plus the wealthy and the Hollywood types love yachting there. Yachting meaning offshore n onshore sex and sex for sale with the certified babes of Instagram. You are a struggling starlet in Hollywood? You have illustrative Instagram pages, you head out to the summer yachting scene to make some side cash.
Lots of Arabs there too for the babes.

I’m pretty sure most Americans put on shoes to put out their trash and recycling.

Countries that care about preserving their heritage and history do not let in millions of outsiders with a hostile heritage and history.

That is one reason I cannot take anything Europeans say seriously.

Here, three of those categories go in the same bin. I suspect they use a gravity chute to divide items and some guy with a stick to smack the stragglers. Italy might try that.
