The teachers' unions are the root of all evil in this battle.

Labor unions are traditionally stalwart supporters of the Democratic Party. They provide financial support and bodies for campaigns and protests. There are no grassroots efforts on the Left, the unions orchestrate it all.

The National Education Association isn't just any union — it is far and away the largest labor union in the United States. The Democrats are more in thrall to it than any other single union in the country. It's an unholy alliance that has worked for many decades to pollute the minds of young children and it needs to be destroyed.

Unfortunately with impending reversal of Act 10 by recently elected far left state supreme court ( thank the clueless RPW Chair Brian Schimming and Never Trump uber weasel Speaker Robin Vos for this happening) teacher unions and government “workers” are getting froggy

Teachers Unions are bad.
School administrators are bad.

But parents are also part of the problem.

Good parents should be involved in schools, helpful to schools, and should be respected by schools.

But bad parents ruin children, ruin classrooms, and can disrupt the entire educational process with ridiculous demands and expectations.

I think the real solution is ending government schools. School Choice is better. Let people shop around and choose an appropriate educational setting for their child. If the parent decides they don’t like the school, they can go elsewhere. And if that school doesn’t want the child, or doesn’t want the parent, then they should be kicked out.

While the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) was working, school was OK. About 25 years later, the teachers were VERY much insisting that "parent involvement is bad!" PTA, ist Kaput.

Followed by the depraved teachings of "progressives." Could not get a word into any debate - the teachers would abruptly cut you off, you . . . you . . . [now] deplorable.

The "shelter in place" thing, further cemented The Public School Iron Curtain.

It's not going to be easy to take down the teachers' unions, but every little bit like this helps. Dismantling the Dept. of Education would be a major blow. It is greatly encouraging that President Trump's desire for real education reform is taking hold in some congressional Republicans. Let's hope it becomes infectious.

Once we see results from the Red states that are just beginning to promote school choice and competition we will move the needle. This I'm afraid will take years due to the tepid embracement of school reform by the GOP over the decades.

Back in college long ago, the left-wing-nut protesters objected to any development on "the campus green spaces."

The left-wing-nut protesters who did not get jobs in the real world, remained in the campus area and got jobs - THERE. Followed by, some becoming academics.

The combination of these employees and academics, demanded funding and received enormous amounts . . . for development of new buildings, for THEM to occupy on the exact same "campus green spaces."
