We certainly live in interesting times.
I just moved into a new neighborhood a couple weeks ago. The first neighbors I met were a lesbian couple. I almost did a vanity post here for this very couple:
One was your stereotypical ‘Portland bull-dyke’: overweight, buzz cut, jeans, Timberland boots, plaid shirt. Straight out of central casting, all the way down to the damn Prius...
...Except for the MAGA hat and the open-carried pistol, and the Trump 2016, 2020, and 2024 bumper stickers. And the big-@ss Trump 2024 flag on the porch.
She said she was thinking about getting a custom shirt or bumper sticker that says “I like my women queer, and my country Great Again”
Interesting times indeed.
They would be more persecuted by the Left for the hat. Most maga people, while not approving of her lifestyle, welcome her.
We have a monthly serious trivia night at the clubhouse, and ended up on a team with two lesbians who are neighbors of some early friends we made here. Not straight out of central casting like yours. One pretty lip-sticky for an older gal.
I think the pretty direct quote one of them made was “Sure I voted for Trump! I’m gay, I’m not stupid!”
Great post.
My daughter just cam back from her friend’s gay daughter’s marriage to another gay. Daughter is pretty and charming and her gay “husband” looks like an ugly. dude. No clue about their politics, but her father is an upright Republican.
I lived in SF for years and had a lot of gay friends. I’m a woman and one of my gay friends went to church with me every Sunday. Really nice guy.
I had an aunt with a *friend* like that.
Smoked cigars, too.
Back in the 60's (as far back as I could remember) but likely much longer than that.
