The Crown Prince of Iran Reza Pahlavi gives a news conference in Paris to speak about the current situation in the country, the need to support Iranians and his future plan for the nation. Calls on Khamenei to step down, and officials loyal to Iranian people to work with him now. Warns international community not to throw ayatollahs a lifeline. Mostly in English, also in Farsi and French in response to Q&A from international press.

You’re practicing pontificating for when the present Pope croaks?
Let me guess ... “Reza Pahlavi” is the Persian translation for “Ahmen Chalabi.”
He has repeatedly stated he is not interested in becoming the second coming of Prince Charles. But whoever heads the new government will be pro-Israel and pro-American.
I read he wants a constitutional monarchy like Great Britain.
Several American podcasters have visited Iran and asked the people who/what they would support. Feelings were mixed but none of them support Pahlavi. There’s a degree of nationalism among them and they seem to prefer what they have now rather than a Western puppet. So any regime change scenario is likely to fail.
Agree. Very much doubt this man would have the necessary support to rule or even be a meaningful symbolic figurehead. It would be a severe mistake if the american government tried to insert him. America’s trouble with Iran have their origins when at the height of the cold war in 1053, Iranians blamed the CIA for the coup that deposed their elected leftist prime minister and resulted in the Shah coming to power. However a modernizer he was, he was resented and opposed by Iranian intellectuals, the elites and most of all by the Islamists. They fostered a revolution and the Islamists came out on top. Iran will not welcome his son as their leader.
Correction, he’s very popular in Iran
I read that he doesn't want a permanent leadership role, but is willing to lead a transition effort until a new form of secular government is formed and the people can choose their leaders.
They would likely have to have some sort of constitutional convention to bring together all of the different factions to agree on the form of government going forward, then ratify it and get it started.

I was coming here to write this.
Can you imagine how much the people of Iran hated his father (and the family in general) to the point where they welcomed a theocratic dictator?
We need to stop promoting this guy. Let the people of Iran decide. And whomever is running the place, tell them that they should keep it within their borders.
I always figured it was Reza Pahlavi that was in that diplomat flagged car that blew through a stop sign in Lubbock @ ‘78-79 and almost hit my ‘72 Buick.
*Pahlavi was a cadet at Reese AFB getting flight training.
He’s the former crown prince. Some call him exiled crown prince
Was thinking the same thing. If this guy knows so much, he must live in Iran, right? I checked out the Prince’s X feed. Lots of Farsi, so I couldn’t understand most of it, but it was about 50/50 for those posted in English. Those who are against were of the rabid, radicalized type. Lots of venom. Those who were for, seemed to be the type who enjoyed Iran pre-1979. Just speculation on my part whether or not those folks were actually living in Iran, or from there, but based on the very little due diligence I conducted, and the fact the Prince said folks in Iran were calling to support him, I’d say the statement “Nobody in Iran supports this clown,” is completely false.
“they seem to prefer what they have now”
That is ignorant BS
Baloney. He has zero credibility or experience. He wants a royalty job with the money and titles. And DC and Israel have told him he’s the man. He believes it.
He speaks 3 languages fluently. He lives in the DC area but travels often to Paris where his mother lives. This press conference was in Paris.
I listened to his speech and he says the right things, but who he is will be a distraction and element of confusion regardless of what he says.
He needs to publicly stay out of any involvement.
Just like Bill Cosby is not the right person to talk about black men’s behavior whether his content is correct or not.
Viva jihadist "Iranian Revolution" circa 1979.
Thanks Eleutheria5!

To those that say “nobody supports this clown”, I think you are clueless. Completely.
